Hey guys, a few friends and I want to make a large bulk reloading supplies purchase, propably 9 or 10 of us so a pretty good size order of powder, primers and bullets. I'm wondering if anyone has found a place to make a bulk purchase and get wholesale pricing, and if so, what kind of quantity do you need to get to in order to get really good pricing?

Reply here or send me a PM with info.

Thanks!

I would try Higginson Powders, I've used them in the past and was very happy, buy in bulk and get great prices.

also try Henry at Budget Shooter Supply he was able to get me 1000 175gr smk's when I couldn't find them anywhere

Hummenson for the powder and primers, there prices are the best and the service is awesome. The powder comes in factory containers, where as with Higginsons the powder comes in cardboard boxes with bags in them. Just a heads up.

as stated hummenson or higginsons for powder/primers and either budget shooter or custom reloading for bullets.

let me know what you are after and maybe I can help.

bulk booking on Bergers in Feb.

Most everything else is on backorder but these are getting filled - slowly but getting filled.

Wholesale pricing - no but as good or better then most major suppliers AND timing is usually a whole lot better. Given US demands, I expect my costs to rise so my prices will follow if needed.

So it boils down to what you want. Most I can get, some nope.

PM or email.

Jerry

Agree, To the OP the prices for powder & primers etc are posted on their web pages and other than free shipping over a certain volume even when we ordered for the entire club there would be no further discount than published bulk pricing. Don't take this wrong but 10 guys ordering is not a big order to these boys. Not sure on the bullets since have never been involved in a bulk purchase there.

Good dealers mentioned above. May be hard to find some stuff right now with everything backordered in the USA but keep looking. And as above 1000-2000 isn't bulk as much as 50,000 and up quantities are.

I kind of expected that. Thanks for the heads up.

It is still worth it just to get enough for free shipping. Key is to buy the biggest jug they stock even if you have to split it with one of your friends or a few of them.. That is where you will save. Also keep all of your empty cans/ jugs for the next time you do it.
Just an example buy 1 pound 4350 and pay 24.50 but buy the 8 pounder and it is 21.00 a pound . I have never had any go bad and some of my powder is probally 25 years old. take care

Not sure how much powder you may have ordered from Hummenson but I just got an email from them that says it is a minumum shipping charge of $270.00 for any powder up to 250 lbs. Not much of a deal there if you ask me.

How can there be a shipping charge that high is coming UPS or something?

Just got a similar email from Hummason, minimum $90 shipping for up to 400 lbs., but I'm in Ontario. Your location may have something to do with the higher rate.

I would say since in the bush is probally delivered by god knows. :) Been two years or so for me ordering and I don't remember exactly but it was like $100..
Even if it is 270 with 10 guys as the OP states 27 each is peanuts for shipping powder.
Best to check your local clubs and join one that does a yearly bulk order for it's members that way shipping is usually free since pallets of the stuff are involved .

I'm in ontario as well, the far end of it, but still $270.00 seems rediculous. I asked about shipping 24 lbs of powder to my postal code and thats the reply I got. Higginson ships 21 lbs of powder free.

In the "bush" is still in the same province they are shipping from. Ontario. And it's to a town of 5000 on the highway. Its hard to find ten guys that from my town or club that would buy 1 lb of powder/yr let alone 10 lbs. Time to move on I guess.:( I could probably use up 20 lbs in a cpl years but I'm sure not going to pay the $270.00 shipping when I can get it for free from someone else. I do think Hummasons prices were slightly lower than Higginsons though. Just seemed they weren't interested all that much. Never had any problems with Higginson. Hmmm lets see, Google maps says its only 1900 kms one way to Hummasons. Road trip maybe?;):D
