I assume you speak about the refurbed snipers that are available now and not a sniper clone. You can buy a Tula or an Izhevsk. Tula cost a bit more because they are rarer but both perform equally. Tula have "CH" stamp on the barrel, mean that they were issued as sniper rifle. Izhevsk have the scope number stamped on left side of barrel shank. On refurb Izhevsk, the old number on barrel was ground off and the new scope # have been stamped during refurbishing. The scope mount have the serial# of the rifle electro penciled or stamped. The scope maybe be the PU or the SVT PU. Many SVT PU scope were used on Mosin sniper, a SVT PU might have "CB" stamped on the elevation turret, mean that the scope was recalibrated for use with the M91/30 rifle instead of the SVT 40 sniper rifle but some SVT scope used on Mosin may not be marked "CB" and honestly, that will not really make difference. Scope can be dated or not and the dated may not match the year of the rifle. The thing you want is the best bore you can find, serial# and others things are less important imao.Need help in buying a mosin nagant sniper. Does anyone have any info on what to look for when buy with regards to matching serial numbers, scope year, etc.
No, marking on scope are stamped. A PU scope have a thick body, thoses scope avre very sturdy.Saw one for sale today. I think it was a repro scope. Did the repro scopes serial
# have a yellowish stamp that looks like it was cnc machined ? As I've always thought original
Pu scopes serial # was more electro pencil looking due to stamping a scope would be bad for the scope.
Yes,unlike sporting scope, the reticle dont stay centered in field of view.So if the recticul moves when adjusting the turret versus the Field of view it's a real PU scope?
Refurb mark as well. Also, scope can have refurb mark too in the form of a box wit x inside. Thanks bro!
Another question lol
The marking of a refurb ( from what I've heard ) is a stamp either with a diagonal slash or a straight slash. What does a just a square cartouche with no line in it mean?
