For the guys running the 223's with 90gr what freebore are you running? I recently read an article that recommended a freebore of .164 and on another site Dave Kiff had mentioned he has made reamers all the way out to a freebore of .190. What do you guys suggest?

Thanks.

I suggest you seat your preferred 90gr bullet in a .223 case, remembering the deeper you seat the less powder room you have. When you are satisfied with the seating depth measure the length of the cylinder portion of the bullet ahead of the case mouth. If you set your calipers to .223" and slide them down the ogive of the bullet they will stop just about at the front of the cylinder. Measure to the case mouth and you will get your free bore. Subtract about 15 thous for wear, then ask Mystic what he uses. Then you should have a good idea as to freebore for your 90gr bullet.

I had a reamer made by JGS to be able to use the 80 & 90gr Bergers I looked at print out of specs on JGS reamer but I don,t see the actual free bore marked on sheet or I just don't know where to find it lots & lots of measurements & numbers.
I sent JGS 3 cases with bullets seated with just the boat-tail section below the neck shoulder junction. JGS for me makes reamers that match there specs, no so with some other manufacturers, not cheep JGS well on north side of $200 My smith only uses JGS reamers
OAL with a 90gr Vld is 2.600.I would have to measure from base to ogive
I have a Pacific also but only have smith use it to rough chamber and Finnish with JGS
