Swiss Arms Black Special

I should add that I wasn't singling out your posts - it just seams it is becoming more commonplace in this forum.

I totally agree, and I know you weren't singling me out, I take no offense, and respect your opinion too! In general, I just don't think anyone was particularly harsh on the OP, I mean you've seen some of the things said around here. The guy got off pretty easy!

Regardless, he hasn't spoke up in some time, the thread has run it's course!

He he -love this chit! Reminds me of highschool......for the record, I'm with SJ on this. There's a TON of info on this site that would take anyone (even a newb looking for advice on barrel break in and 30 rd clips) about 30 seconds to dig up. If someone spews crap (due to ignorance or laziness) then they get what they earned....so if the OP can't take it, well....tough:)

When i called up the RCMP Gun centre couple months back, on two seperate occasions by two seperate officers i was told that a NR rifle can't have a pistol grip, and the other one said cant have a pistol grip or a hold a magazine, I then had my ACR converted right after to NR. and were paying these people $100K+ a year what a joke.

I strongly suggest we try as much as possible to not belittle other new guys. not everyone is internet savvy!

The people in this forum just want to make sure you're well informed and prepared. Althought shooting is a sport or hobby to some it's still pretty serious, mistakes cannot be made. If someone doesn't #### on you for being slightly off the mark the next person will. Don't take it personally, just learn from the experience and try to be leniant. Bottom line is gun enthusiasts need to stick together, so try not to ignore anyone who gives you a hard time or tries to correct you. Say sorry for spreading misinformation and thank you to the person who corrected you.

You people are so immature, who cares if he calls it a clip? I hear people calling it that all the time. Its like car and vehicle.. same thing. AK47 is FAMOUS for its "banana clip" not banana magazine. Chill out on the guy and if you arent interested in helping him keep your smrt comments to yourself.

Hello, im new to the forum. I just purhcased a swiss arms black special, and am pretty exited to pick it up. Questions about breaking in the barrel, is there any special technique.

Where can i buy some extra clips, like 10 or 30 rounds. Do i get them from swiss or are there other manufacturers that are compatible.

Lastly about picatinny rails, anyone know where to get them for the upper sight mounts, and front grip.

Thanks
Jon

Congrats on your new purchase. The Shooting Edge handles a lot of SAN stuff. Mags are pricey but there are knock offs that are well regarded available for less than half the price. There is a 5 round mag available that I like to use for coyote hunting or gophers but can be a bit tougher to quickly change out. There are 5/30 mags that have the added bonus of coupling together and can also be used as a field expedient shooting rest. I consider myself fortunate that I got 2 5 round and 4 5/30 mags when I bought my SAN.

As for break in, just load the mags up, shoot and repeat.

Hey OP, water off a ducks back bro, do you remember all the really fat ugly chicks you see in the movies who are on the phone ### chat lines acting like beautiful women and actually even sound ###y??? well now just picture them holding a firemarm and woila!!! CGN baby
take it for what it is.... a great read!

I lurked on this site long before I joined and I learned the difference between mags and clips before I ever posted. I make sure to refer to them as magazines on this site but in real life I don't give a crap about the difference. I really couldn't care less as the terms are interchangeable with people not involved in the sport.

Also, what is that shoulder thing that goes up? Never figured out what that refers to yet.

I have no idea LOL, I know I want one though!

Clip is something that is used to CHARGE a magazine...usually one built into the gun but not always.

Sure you can call it w/e you want but if your using the wrong terminology, especially on purpose...your not gonna be taken as serious and people will not take your word for whats its worth. When someone comes up to me at the range and says how big is that clip? Followed by how far that can shoot my gun and hit things...they usually get a response in German from me as I do not feel like talking to any clowns and wanna bees.

Very good attitude towards new shooters

I am saying saying I do it towards new shooters...I am doing it to all the guys who claim they know the difference but do not care and call it a clip like the guy above.

In 2007 during the proposed reauthorization of the AWB Carolyn McCarthy went on MSNBC and called a barrel shroud "a shoulder thing that goes up".

From; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carolyn_McCarthy
When Carlson pressed her twice more on the question about barrel shrouds, she admitted that she did not know what a barrel shroud was, and incorrectly stated, "I believe it is a shoulder thing that goes up."

Hope that helps. :D
