CZ 527 Varmint/Target Rifles VS Remington 700

A few weeks ago was playing with come 527 and holy crap!! Very nice guns. Shot one a few weeks ago in 223rem and the sst is very nice feature. It is very light trigger. I also looked at a 700 that same day. My reaction was meh its just another space age plastic gun. It had no soul to it if that makes sense. Just seemed normal and boring compared to the 527.

I think they make some nice rifles. I have the CZ 452. The CZ 527 varmint is about the top of my list for a .223 gun. I wish it had iron sights. I also wish more places carried them around here.

Clay at prophet river will be able to help you out. These rifles are amazing. Poor mans sako.... Haha. Ok then.

Seems to be in poor supply in Canada. My LGS had placed an order for some last year and still have no ETA. Been looking for one in .223.

I have the CZ 527 in 7.62x39 and it is a very nice rifle. Very traditional, all metal and wood with a miniature mauser action and single set trigger. It was bedded by the previous CGN owner and is accurate. I have a couple of CZ 452s that are very accurate after some trigger work. My next will be a 527 in .223 and I expect it will need a bit of trigger work and bedding but it is well worth it.

I love my 223 CZ 527 varmint! I shoot factory ammo in 50 and 55 gr. and I have never shot as good as with this rifle. It shoots AE FMJ good, S&B SP really good, and Horandy Vmaz, (40gr.) even better:) And they are all close to each other on 100 meters, only the Hornady a little higher. The varmint is not small though with its 24" and heavy barrel.

I have shots lots of geese and seals with it and can't wait for spring. Have a Leu vIII 3-10 on it right now, but will be putting a falcon menace on it instead and move the leu on my 6.5:) Cant wait to use the reticle on geese up to 300 meters.

I have a CZ 527 Varmint .223, let me paint you a picture.

I went shooting last monday in ####ty conditions, the range was 220YDS. I was shooting with a bipod, lying on a wool blanket in snow, so not a great shooting position. My rings are also cheapo aluminum chinese made ones because I am broke. And I also figured, chucking bullets down range was fun, so I just wanted to shoot, and ran some AE 55gr .223, the stuff that says AR on it. I launched a 5 shot group in quick succesion - not a great shot, and it was sub 2 MOA. It covered less than 2 squares on the target. So basically, crappy ammo, crappy shooter, crappy circumstances, and crappy rings, GREAT rifle - pretty damn good group.

I had a Rem700 VS I now have a 527 Varmint. I am liking the CZ much better, very accurate and the CZ is much lighter for a 'heavy barreled' rifle. It has shot well with bullet weights ranging from 45gr, 50gr, 55gr, 69gr and even 75gr in a 1-9" twist barrel. Just on the hunt for a new scope as I want more maginification than 3-9x.

I have a 223 with the kevlar stock and it is a great gun. Solid, nice handling. Only thing that I am not totally happy with is the clip thing. But after some more use I am sure that could be handled better.
Good gun ( I would put it in same class as sako - and I have a few sako's)

CZ 527s are much nicer rifles than any Remington 700.

Maybe right tjhaile comparing to the Remingtons made today but go back to the 60s & 70s Remington was making some nice rifles there model 32 over & under shotguns from 50s was as finely made as any gun.
And there no CZ ever made in 22lr that will out shoot a 50s or 60s 40x remington.
