New Skinner sights on the Ruger 10/22 Takedown

Ordered these from Skinner Sights after a fellow member brought them to my attention. Well made and I'm liking the sight picture. Took some filing to get them to fit but nothing major. It was a lot harder getting the stock sights off. They are a shorter version of their dovetail mount sights made for the 10/22 TD so it doesn't extend out past the end of the barrel. Nice alternative to the factory sights.

Yeah, and get this: I was the one who suggested you get the Skinner Sights for your TD and I'm still waiting for my order to arrive!!

Glad I took your advice! It's exactly what I was looking for. How long have you been waiting? It took 9 days for mine to get here (North Bay, Ontario) cost $77 cdn after shipping.
 
wish you didnt post that link!!! its gonna cost me, i like the sights and the takedown case they offer, ruger factory case is huge!!
 
It is, but I pack mine full of 25rd BC mags and 1000 or so rounds of CCI mini mag. If i wanted something for just the rifle then yes, the ruger bag is too big. The one from Skinner is priced right too. I think it was money well spent for the Skinner setup. I'll be ordering a set for a Marlin 336BL soon. Should have ordered them all at once. I hate wating for stuff in the mail.

I just got an email from Andy and he says the sights are on the way. I ordered three complete sets (I have three TDs) plus one of the flat case TD bags. Can hardly wait to get 'em!

And you can make that 10/22 Takedown bag even "huge-er" by adding a Camelbak Triple SMG Mag Pouch to the Molle attachment. That'll give you outside access to three more banana mags: http://www.botachtactical.com/catrsmgmagpo.html#scProductReviews (read the bottom review). They're a match made in 22LR heaven.

If you read the fine print under the Skinner Sights 10/22 Takedown header, it says they'll fit ALL 10/22s.

And if you're thinking of ordering a set, I wouldn't wait too long. I nudged Survivalblog field editor Pat Cascio into doing an online review of them which should result in Andy getting hundreds/thousands of new orders. According to Andy, Pat just received his samples -- ahead of me again!! -- and will likely be writing something up soon. Be quick -- or wait in line!
 
For those of you interested in these sights, but not for the take-down application, Skinner has the "coming soon" listing for the standard 10/22 that would mount the aperture on the receiver, resulting in a considerably longer sight radius.
