Anyone know a good sourse for paper hulls or full brass hulls here in Canada? I 'm running low on my gun show paper hull ammo and its so old the hulls rarely reload twice.

I think the full brass ones would be bad ass for my 1897 so that's an option as well.
 
Goggle bilzor. More shotgun stuff than I knew existed.
Also carries 2 1/2inch all brass shells. Not sure how they work in repeaters but I like them for singles and doubles.

I've heard that the export rules don't apply to shotgun stuff but have nothing to back that up.
 
brass hulls will not work in pumps or lever guns without a slight roll crimp this needs a die also the cheap magtech brass can only be loaded with BP because they are balloon head and other companys(RMC) cant be crimped as they are too thick

federal still makes paper hulls not need to fire ammo made 80+ years ago

really though id just get some cheap shells(hulls from these can be found on a skeet/trap range) if your loading BP and shoot them and then load them up with a roll crimp or star crimp if you get one or two loadings who cares if you lose them who cares
 
The guy at my local gun shop is going to order me some brass ones but I will be on the look out for the paper hulled ones. I think I can give them a roll crimp with my old lee hand loading kit. Worth a try and if they work great if not a big deal. I'll post some pictures if I can get them to work in the pump.

the crimp im talking about is not like a standard crimp for shotshells its more like a roll crimp on a pistol round this gives it just a little rounded over section that helps it feed the lee hand tool can only put a crimp on paper or plastic hulls and it can only redo what was on the hull already.

biggest problem with the brass hulls and the roll crimp is its hard on the brass and you need to anneal the mouth every few firings
 
An old thread but I crimp my brass shotshells, I made a crimp die for the 16 and 20 gauges and use a .270 size die to put the crimp on my .410’s. Also put the shot size on the overshot wad to indicate hunting loads and which shot loaded. Blank shot wads indicate target loads. Agree wholeheartedly with annealing at least ever other firing. If you have tight fitting wad you don’t need much crimp. I load the .410 on a MEC 600jr with a custom die I made to insert the overpowder wad in place of the crimp starter and the .270 die is mounted in the finish crimp position. The others are loaded by hand but compressed on my co-ax press. Had to make shell holders as I could not find them for 20 and 16ga. IMG_3229.jpeg
