Has anybody seen a Savage 10 Precision Carbine lately?

I tried to order one from a site sponsor who showed stock on their website; got an email saying that it was an inventory error, and they've been out since December.

I checked other site sponsors and nobody shows one in stock.

Have you seen one lately at your local gun store? I'll put up a WTB in the EE of course, but not sure I'll have a ton of luck.
 
Gee I haven't even seen one here in the States. Never heard of one. Pics? I have a Savage 110 Tactical pre-accutrigger thats close to 15 years old. I love the bargain accuracy of the these Savage rifles. I'm looking at a Savage tacticool .22lr for cheaper practice too.

Nevermind. Found the pix. I'd like the .308 model not the .223. For my money the Mossberg MVP is more useful. 30rd AR mag bolt action Yea baby! :D Now if it took FN/FAL metric mags! Whoa!

The only prob with that is an AR mag is still limited to 5 rounds because it is designed for a semi-auto rifle. Remember the same loophole that allows 10 round pistol mags in an AR will limit an AR mag to 5 rounds in a bolt gun.

So you must be the guy that cranked the Accutrigger WAY down to the lowest pull then? LOL

Got it in the mail yesterday. Looking forward to busting out the reloading tools, cooking up some ammo and hitting the range with it. I'm thinking it needs a paint job though.
 
Did you get the 223 or 308? What was the price on it?

I was looking at the same rifle in 223, ended up going with a savage 11 instead, still think about that 10PC though...
 
.308 of course. (That cartridge and I have a history together in precision rifles.)

I caught it on sale, thanks to a tip from another good samaritan CGN... $749 plus tax and shipping. If it's accurate even close to the other Savage rifles I've had, that's a bargain with every shot.

I got it at the same price, sale was just about to end on it too. If you remember Silverado, your the one the one that got me hooked on Savage after I bought your 10 HS Precision.

What projectile you got loaded up for them???
 
I do remember that. Actually I very nearly bought another 10HS this time around before deciding on the PC. Glad it worked out for you.

Funny how that works; IIRC I sold a different Savage to another CGN to try long range shooting; that individual has gone full bore into that discipline now, and owns a PGW Coyote among other fine guns.

Most of my work with this gun will be inside 600m, so I'm going to load some SMK's in 155 Palma and 168 for starters - depends on how long the throat measures out to be. I actually intend to make it a dual purpose rifle with a second optic for hunting; I'll probably try 165gr TSX's for that job.
 
I too will be using it for hunting and long range as well. I've got 175 SMK with varget loaded up that I'm hoping will give good results for long range and 150 & 168 Barnes TSX's for hunting. The reason I ask was that HS was extremely accurate with 178 A-Max and was wanting to see what you were using.
 
The gun only came in the mail on Friday, so It'll be a while before I've got anything to report. I've got SMK's in hand, but I'll try Hornadys or Lapuas if they don't work out.
