canadiantire sells sks

I just called the two in Saskatoon, and they are a NO go as far as selling any firearms other than air rifles. Gonna call the store in Prince Albert and see about them. They have always callied a decent selection of ammo, so maybe they are getting back into guns as well. If anyone can report back for Saskatchewan, would love to hear!!

My CT at Atholville,N.B got a new batch of refurb. I saw fews 51 among them, a 1954 with original stock but a refurb stamp on the cover. Alls refurb in that lot, with hardwood stock. In all they are in very nice shape. They have somes FMS sp ammo too.

just back from the CT in Selkirk, MB. They still have plenty at $199 and stock of ammo MFS (non corrosive) FMJ ($7.99) and SP ($9.99). picked up a bunch for some weekend shooting and a few 50 packs of CCI stingers ($6.99). Not too bad price for CT.
They also have a bunch of hunting goodies on sale right now, bring a computer print off though because the prices weren't marked down in store :)

Have you shot it yet? I'm so curious about the sks and with them at CDN Tire its just too easy, Im just hesitant as to if I should go the CDN tire route or buy from a dealer

No need to worry, a refurb is a refurb. Go and ask to examine somes. at worst, they will have ###xx on the stock and a refurb stamp on the cover. Me i got very lucky at my CT, i picked up a 54 and a 56, advertised as refurb but upon close inspection, they are no refurb, handling marks at most, stocks cartouches intact, numbers matching and no refurb stamp anywere.

Hi Leadhead,

My local CT says that if I can give them the product number then they will look into getting me one. If you could please post the number from your receipt that would be great.

Thanks

unfortunatly i do not have the receipt anymore i had it on my desk and my wife must have thrown it out

Damn! CT here has the SKS's blocked in their system with a "do not order" message. She said that chances are that all BC CT's have it blocked.

Mind you, I just found a guy in BC that has some awesome deals with sks's including ATI stocks and cases of ammo.

I was in one of my local CT stores and purchased several boxes of 22 ammo and the female sales person in route to the cashier informed me that they were going to start selling firearms in the near future. Seems CT is starting to see the light.

Hopefully this spreads to BC!!

DiMP, this IS spreading to BC. The Canadian Tire in Trail will start selling rifles and shotguns in the next two months or so. I know this to be true because I took my CFSC with one of the store managers, who took the course BECAUSE they are going to start selling guns. Not positive if the CT in Castlegar will be doing so as well - I heard that from the Trail store manager too, but there seemed to be some confusion. A fellow I know living in Marysville told me a staff member at the Cranbrook CT claimed they would also be selling firearms "soon."

BTW, the CT in Trail is also looking at selling common pistol ammo.

So: Trail for sure, Castlegar probably, Cranbrook possibly. I am sure this is spreading!

Best Regards, Geraldo
