canadiantire sells sks

Wow! Congrats! What CanTire is selling those exactly? No CanTire in my area are even close to selling firearms. An few boxes of ammo is as far as they normally go. I'm talking GTA here, of course.

a few of us on this thread are in new brunswick. we have 2 stores carrying guns right now and south side fredericton is selling sks but i don't know about oromocto

Might just be an Ontario CT thing then. They take PAL info and home address for everything and it all goes into ledgers.

next time you do go in, ask them if they received a notice from the cfo in your area for cease all recording of firearms and ammo.

I think these things are more about a stores internal policies rather than the CFO. I'm not 100% on that though.

as far as i know policy or not they are not supposed to collect your info. that would be a type of backdoor lgr. best thing to do is call and ask why they collect info where the lgr is dead

CT collect infos in case of firearms purchase only, like the way it was before the gun registery,in a ledger book.
Joce

the most they would have to put down is that the gun is sold and out of stock they shouldn't be taking anyones info though, but i suppose that is bantario

I was talking about my CT in NB but i get your point, as long the buyer show a valid paln, shouldn't be no need to keep further infos but even before registery, infos were kept in a ledger.

and that is why i love living in nb fredericton

Huh..but aren't you guys in the same provin?....I'm telling you it's a store policy thi....oh, nevermind.

where abouts are you i know here they don't write anything down, when i bought my sks they asked to see it told me how much and i was on my way.

Try buying from the CT in North Freddy. They record PAL info from ammo purchases, and when I objected I was told it was policy from the owner to "ensure that employees check everyone's PAL before selling them ammunition". Funny, no-one records my driver's license number when I buy beer...

Ours in Powell River does this too. I've #####ed out the manager about it (polite at first, and then a second time insulting her intellect when she refused to read that it wasn't the law that her policy was based on, as she was making claims it was). So now I just don't buy anything from them. If I need something from a big box store I go to Walmart because they at least don't try and burden their customers with BS policies that are not related to law.

Walmart at argyle in London On has a seperate sheet for each person for each ammo purchase.... seen it and walked out. Its getting stupid...

Going to be in town tonight to take the daughter to Jungle Jims for supper as she is now 19 and can LEGALLY get into the bars.Gonna go back to Canadian Tyre to snag another SKS if they have any left as when I was at the Sunbury range on the weekend I could have sold the bloody thing a couple times. I should buy the rest of what they have and sell them at a profit hmmmmm.

This is fantastic news, I am in Toronto now but live in Halifax and will be asking all the ctc's ,"when are you going to start selling firearms" Hope soon. This thread is getting long fast, someone should show it to ctc brass so they can see what kind of business they are missing out on. We might go in for the gun but usually come out with lots of related or unrelated products! They would also see the concerns about the unnessesary registering of our pal's and may set a standard for the ctc's to follow! Anybody got a phone # or email address!?
Again, very happy to see ctc getting back in the game!

Just got back from Freddy and the trip was well worth it.Went to the Canadian Tyre uptown and there they were all 20 of them in a cage with the crate on the top. A fresh supply of SKS RIFLES!As I oogled in awe I noticed the price has gone up to $179.99 [bummer ] but wait what is that over there in the gun case yup x2 SVT40 rifles. Got the gun dude to open up the case and I was right it is a 1942 with a navy stock milled to take a scope mount and a 6 port muzzle brake.Checked the tag and it was $269.00 SOLD! The gun dude said there was xtra bits out back that came with it sling/ pouch with various tools/ammo pouch/oil bottle. But wait thats not all x3 more crates of SKS rifles and the ctate [ minus one ] of SVTs.Got to look at all the rifles and there is x1 more navy stock one and a good mix of 6 port and 2 port versions. There is no sign of cosmo but they are very oily [a goot thing ]Also there was a box of 25 Tapco black 5/20 round mags for the SKS at $27.00 each! The gun dude said they got other bling bits comming in and crates of ammo too. Can't wait to shoot her! Just showed my FAC and he recorded the serial # [ of the rifle ] on a generac sheet wrapped it in a garbage bag and walked me to the service desk to pay and I was out the door! Too easy.I got to start travelling with a cun case and trigger lock.
