I have to disagree..... the beretta has a thicker grip and a shorter trigger reach, that makes it feel quite different in hand. For most people, the CZ has much better ergonomics.
I agree about getting a Shadow if the OP likes the CZ75. The SP-01 Shadow is a great choice for a Canadian gun as our pistols are range queens. Its got no firing pin block and has a better trigger then regular CZ75b models including the anniversary pistol. The extra weight in the long dust cover/rail help reduce recoil. Also its a fun pistol to own as it can be modified with things like SAO trigger and CZ competition/CGW hammer to give it what could be one the best trigger on a pistol.
In regards to the original question. Usually special edition guns dont go up in value much because most people buy them and put them away. There are exceptions but this is the rule. True rarities such as prototypes, army/police trials weapons or other low production examples are what most collectors value highly and should not be used as a daily shooters. At the end of the day you have to ask yourself if you want to collect or shoot. Do you want to own a mint pistol, and then eventually have to pass it on to another person for them to do as THEY please with it. That is what collecting boils down to, owning an object for the sake of admiring it temporarily.
Here is some more food for thought about the CZ 75th Anniversary pistol. Two pistols that sold in USA auctions recently:
1. This one went for $1875
