Down here in the states you can hardly find any powder. I usually use H4831. But it is gone from the shelves.
Found a quantity of the IMR 7828 SSC. Data shows it should work just fine. Has anyone here had experience with it. Slow burning.
Would use in M96 Swede Rifles.

Tends to be best suited to the boomers. I've used it a lot in cartridges like .270 Weatherby, .300 WM, I think even in the .300 RUM. It seems to me I might have tried it in the Swede, but can't remember. I would guess it would be best with the heavier bullets, at least 140's.

I only shoot the 140 and 160 grain bullets. Looking for a good powder for those only.
This is about the only one I can find available even on the net. It is that bad down here with supply.

My most accurate load for for the M96 Swede is 47gr of IMR 7828 pushing a 140gr Amax.
In looking at the Hogdon reload chart, that was the charge I have in mind. Looks like 44 or 45gr for the Hornady 160 would be nice also.
I just have never used 7828 or 7828SSC before. Thank you for your information!!!!

RL22 is excellent. Is that available?
No, no RL anywhere seems available. Virtually ALL Powder is gone. We can't buy ammo nor can we buy powder. Primers are very scarce, but I am OK there.
This is ridiculous down here. This 7828 is literally all I can find from any source right now. Could it get better by Spring? I do not know.

Well, I went ahead and ordered an 8lb canister of IMR 7828SSC. Going to find out. But, they say it may be three weeks before they can ship due to other order back logs.
I need to thank you guys here that gave me response to that specific powder.

QL Comparison with RL-22 which is often used for heavy bullets

As far as quickload is concerned. If i compare a 48gr. load behind a 140gr. bullet with either powder the pressure and speed is nearly the same. (7828 is a little bulkier)

Seems to me that it will be a fine substitute for you.
