OA-Mags

Aside from that why can't you just go along with its great to see other options open to our market when someone is willing to step up and take a chance with some other product? Man there is nothing positive on this site Just everyone jumping at the chance to throttle everyone down

Crosshair is one of those types that just have to have name brand everything to look more tacticool :p

Totally. Let's be realistic for a moment: Selling a copy of the PMag for more than actual PMags were selling for in Canada being a positive thing... Remind me how that is, again?

On Oberland Arm's website itself, they sell their OA-Mags for 20€. That's $27 CAD. Doing this sh*t is not a positive thing for us gun nuts at all. It's called getting f*cked, plain and simple. There might be some reasons on why they cost a hell of a lot more than the magazines they're modelled on (under normal circumstances, generation 2 windowed PMags can be had for $16 on Brownells for Americans) but that doesn't fly with me. It's a matter of principle.

It's great for everyone that desperately needs magazines for their AR-15s but nobody's going to make me pay that much more for the exact same thing.

Yeah cause shipping from Germany is free and we all know that our government won't charge tax to anything coming across the boarder

1) Oberlands is a new company

2) They have been producing AMAZING rifles.

3) They are a German company and Germans do good work

4) Yes they sell for $27 CDN on the website but GOOD LUCK ORDERING! You cannot order spare mags outside of Europe! Zombie Supply made a very special deal to be able to buy the mags themselves and be able to sell them outside of Europe.

5) The US wants to limit all mags to 5-15 rounds (currently States are deciding on their own limits)

6) Magpul is closing up shop and now are moving to a different state due to Colorado passing 4 stupid laws on guns

7) These mags are selling the same price as P-Mags "last year". $30 per mag.

Windowless second generation PMags are still listed at $19.99 on Questar while the new M3s are listed at $26.99. They might not have regular shipments of them as of late but hey, still a hell of a lot cheaper. I have never seen PMags for $30.

Sucks for them.

Questar had them on for $27 at one point, good for them, $3 less than OA-mags. Oberland is also a new company and probably doesn't have the production capabilities that Magpul has.

Think of it this way, Magpul lists the M3 on their website for $17.95 and Questar, which is the cheapest, sells them for $26.99. Oberland Arms lists the OA for $26.99 and Zombie Supply is selling them for $30. So the M3 mags have a $9 markup for Questar compared to Zombie Supply's $3.01 markup on the OA mags.

That's a bit harsh don't you think? Magpul won't cease to exist, after all. :p

magpul will be around but with their current backorder, then having to move to a new warehouse and bring production back up its going to take a lot of time.
i wouldnt be counting on any magpul pmag shipments for a long time. a couple shops may get part of their pre hype orders but IMO thats about it...and really, i still say store owners will give first dibs to their friends an not advertise what they get...even pre-orders.

you really think magpul can keep up with the demand and move factorys? do they even have another building, permits, trained staff? highly doubt it....
they will probably offer incentives for staff to go with them but you wont see them at the same production level they were at.

look at glock for example.
the gen 4 came out, sold out everywhere.. lucky me went to buy one about a week after they were gone and i couldnt find one... 8 months later i found a used one and 10 months later they were back on the shelves. and ive heard they are once again sold out. glock didnt slow down their production and have to move, they actually had just opened the USA factory so in theroy they should have had more flying out the doors.

so, glocks backorder was at about 200,000 units in 2011, and i think it was even higher in 2012...i think it was 1 million backordered.
magpul backorder i think i read was 10 million units.... (someone correct my numbers if they are wrong)

and fyi - $35 mag +13%tax +$15 shipping you are at $54.55
private sale new pmags at $55 locally still look overpriced?...maybe. (yes, ive sold a few)

Considering I paid $20 for my PMags, I wouldn't pay $35 for anything else.

Paid, past tense. Were you around for the last AWB? We were paying a lot more than $35 for used USGI. Prices may eventually settle back down, but then again, maybe not.
