I am thinking of getting a new tt-33 to keep my refurbished one company.I see them advertised as being from Tula or Izhevsk factories,besides date of manufacture what are the differances,is one better than the other?

No differences...all parts are interchangeable.

Arrow in a small triangle = from Izshevsk arsenal (russian)
Arrow in a small star = from Tula arsenal (russian)
Number 11 in a big circle = from factory 11 (Polish)

A little square with a diagonal inside = refurbished

The Tula ones are better... a Star is more visually appealing than a triangle or circle... so Tula is better

The name is Tula Tokarev Model 1933, but really there's no functional difference, both factories were the same quality roughly, the only real preference would be due to its name.

Tula Toks are usualy older.
Polish Toks are good pistols, and available Unissiued (new).

Buy a brand new unissued Polish Tokarev from Kelly's Sporting Goods in Ontario. They were the first to offer them to the CGN community before the others jumped on the bandwagon. Call up Wes and speak to him in person....he's a good lad and deserves the first chance to earn your business. He's proven that Kelly's will be there with hassle free after sales service. I'll personally vouch for Kellys.
