Reloading the 9mm, berry or zero?

Hi, i want to buy bullets for reloading. Looking to do some ipsc loads, so it would be 9mm 147fr RN bullets.
I have a hard time finding info on berry vs zero projectiles, are they just the same and i wouldn't see the difference?
 
I thought I'd chime in as I've been reloading for just over a year, however by no stretch do I consider myself worldly in terms of experience. I've tried Frontier, AIM, Winchester, Berry's and DRG lead bullets. I have not tried Zeros. From my experience, I did not really see a difference in terms of accuracy if I kept to one powder for all bullet brands. I did however see variances in accuracy, cycling, shot acquisition whenever I switched powders (I've used Titegroup, Bullseye and HP-38). All in all, I'd always try to find a balance between economy (cost) and what is available because it is ultimately the amount of practice you put in your shooting/drills/league nights and matches that will determine if one bullet is better/more accurate than another.
 
Berries bullets are plated, Zero's are jacketed. Have used both and wouldn't hesitate to use either. I prefer zero's because I can go pick them up in Brampton which makes them cheaper since shipping can be expensive. On the other hand, a consistant supply of zero bullets is sometimes difficult. I just try and re stock well before I run low.
 
So in reality using zero or berry makes no difference, i'd just go for what's available at the best price at the time.
I was thinking of using VVn320 powder behind them.
 
I am no expert but I have some luck in using 125 gr DRG and Bullseye/Titegroup in my 9mm. My mentor has been using Bullseye reloading 9/.40 and .45. OAL is a critical factor. The only downside with Hardcast is leading. You have to clean more frequently. Accuracy-wise, i see very little to no difference at all. I have used FMJ but cannot comment on plated bullet.
 
Both - Zero and Berry's are very good to excellent, thou I never tried Zero personally.

So far, I have loaded and shot over 50K Berry's in 124gr RN flavor and it is still my fav. Used to load and shoot Frontiers when started reloading but they don't really compare - Berry's are much better in quality and consistency (weight, shape and plating).
VV N320 is the best powder for 9mm hands down... but pricy. Personally, after trying a few powders, I settled on Clays; WST is very good for Minor PF as well, but Clays is more economical and in a sense is 'poor man's N320'.
You may wanna consider going with 124gr bullets over 147gr ones due to cost. 124s are still giving you sub-sonic velocity and are long enough to get stabilized well inside barrel to give very good accuracy.
Also, Berry's RN bullets have profile (shape) that allows them to be loaded longer than some other ones for use in CZ guns. CZ guns are somewhat unique in the way how soon rifling starts in the barrel and thus picky about OAL and/or bullet profile.

Edit: Do not use Clays with 147gr bullets, the powder is too fast for that and load will create dangerous pressure.

I have been using a 92FS for the last 11k rounds, and yes i am switching to shadow. Even if i dislike CZ, i cannot argue on the fact that the controls are just ergonomicly more suited to me. So it should make me a better IPSC'er at least, in theory.
Btw this is the recipe given to me if it's any good;

147gr. RN
3.4gr VVn320
1.150 Overlenght

Suposed to get minor PF while managing recoil at it's best
 
as mentioned here, I never really found a plated or jacketed or lead bullet make much difference in accuracy, just a bit more leading/fouling/puff of smoke when shooting lead

147 gr bullets are nice because it feels like there is less recoil (especially compared to snappy 115gr rounds)

I had great success with titegroup for 9mm, its inexpensive and meters great through a powder dispenser
 
I have been using both ..... Zero's and Berry's in both caliber, 9mm and .45 ACP. They work well in both and they are equal in precision.

The only difference is Berry's are shinier that the Zero's .... more brilliant, looks just better .... Zeros are kind of matt finish .....
 
I have never used Berry's, but I have also heard nothing but good things about them.

Personally I use Zero's and I am very happy with them.
