Considering a Tavor, Is it that good?

I'm still in the process of finalizing a load for mine. Early indications are that mine like Noster 50gr BT pushed by Benchmark. 3 round groups are wavering around 1.4".

I'm waiting for a new front rest and a few other things I have on order before I proceed too much further with load development......

I had a bunch of groups etc. posted in a thread last fall....

Sorry I was referring to the accuracy and trigger of the FS2000, as these two things are the weaknesses of the tavor from what ive heard.
From what i have read the FS200 has supposedly a better trigger pull. The accruacy is supposedly to be better to. Although by not much. The thing is with "trigger pull" it really is a subjective term. While some people will say its crap. Others will say its not so bad. And even a few others will say it good. The only way to judge "trigger pull" on a tavor is to judge for yourself.

Personaly the tavor trigger on my tavor dosnt bother me. Is it the best. No, not by a long shot. Do i expect it to be the best? No, its a bullpup semi auto military rifle and not a bolt rifle.

As for calling a 1.5 to 3 moa a weakness on the part of the tavor woud be flawed thinking. Its not a bolt rifle. I would never really expect anything more then 1.5moa ever out of a military rifle. If a semi auto black rifle gets better then that , thats great. If it dosn't, I personay wouldnt call it a flaw. It is only a flaw when your constantly pushing 3 moa and up.

I'd admit that I hesitated a lot before decided that I want a TAVOR.

It seems many either love or hate it.... but I love unique firearms, and slightly more so if they are non-restricted.

I'd get this trigger mod if it became available for the TAVOR, since I don't prefer heavy triggers.

Pardon the naive non-Tavor owner questions but I'm more than a little curious. I often read " it's a bullpup" in explanations for the trigger and accuracy "issues". I suspect that there are more linkages in a bullpup but why is the design frequently said to be less accurate?

Some people cant keep a bullpup steady. My cousin is one of them he is 6'4" and is lucky to hit a pie plate at 50 yards with my tavor. Me on the other hand I can keep most in a popcan at 100 yards with the stock sight. It is the way the weight is distributed. The front is very very light all of the weight is at the butt.

Yes, that and the trigger... I don't think the shot of gass in the eye helps either.

This rifle wasn't designed for target shooting... If you want to put a bunch of shots thought the same hole go buy a Remington 700.

If your 5'5" like me and with shorter arms. You will hate the tavor.i find it doesn't fit me right. I'm reaching forward to much. Physically hold one of you could Before you fully decide.

I assume it is more to do with the intended usage of these rifles rather than the bullpup design… there are bolt action bullpup rifles used for sniping…

I've seen them marketed... Not in use. I don't doubt somebody is using them but I'm yet to see it.

Only time I have a problem with the gas in the eye is on really calm days. If there is any wind I dont get it. It also depends on the ammo. I get it mostly with prvi ammo. The msi steel cased stuff is fine.

For the trigger I dont find it all that bad. But im used to shooting muzzle loaders without set triggers. So the trigger pull is about 10+lbs.

I've never heard anything about bullpups being inherently inaccurate. You're likely confusing the trigger issues with rumors of inaccuracy. Bullpups will always have a bad trigger due to having to run a linkage back to the action.

Thanks! Interesting that the photo of the Spanish marine snipers only one of them is using it.

I'm yet to fire one of the bull pup bolt actions but it seems a little akward.

Operating the bolt is rather awkward, you have to kind of chicken wing it and give it a good smack... I think the other guy is firing an AI in 338... Edit: Trigger was acceptable...
