First of don't start ragging on me if this topic was mentioned before because i didn't do a search of the topics! I took my M93 Sportsman out today and had problems with it if I used high velocity ammo. I had FTE on 1240 fps ammo I tried 4 different types of ammo with the same problem. I used hyper velocity CCI velocitor ammo and it seemed to solvle the problem. Do these pistols have a problem with high velocity (1240fps) ammo or do they just have to be shot a whille before they cycle well?

I have cycled standard velocity ammo without fail through mine.
they definitely need a fair cleaning once you get it as mentioned.

I stripped it down and cleaned it with CLP before I took it out. It just didn`t want to cycle on the 1240 fps ammo (FTE), but ran well on the 1640 fps CCI. I hope that after I run a few hundred more rounds, it will eat the cheap ammo.

The gun should work with standard velocity ammo, if it doesn't then it is up to you to fix it.
I really have to ask why you would run high velocity ammo through a gun that is designed for .22LR.

We have IDPA-style matches all winter with a .22 class; lots of guns seem not to function correctly with less than Stinger-velocity ammo. My Ruger Mk III started life rather uncooperatively with less than high-velocity ammo but after a couple thousand rounds it has smoothed out an eats everything.

Mine runs reasonably well on CCI Blazers, i've also used Winchester 555s with few issues.

Only problems i have with the gun are that sometimes I get light primer strikes, and sometimes the follower sticks in the mag resulting in it not feeding.

the colt woodsman was revised to handle high velocity ammo, the norinco is a copy of the revised model as far as I can tell, high velocity is good to go.

Odd as it sounds I've found with my own direct blowback rimfire pistols that the recoil energy of the rounds is related more to the bullet weight than the velocity. Oh sure, you can overpower it with the 1640fps stuff but that's using the sledgehammer approach.

I had one gun which worked fine with 40gn standard velocity but had week ejection and frequent jamming with the 36gn HV ammo. I figured out finally that the heavier bullet stays in the bore for longer so the casing sees a longer recoil impulse which did better at cycling the slide. The lighter but faster HV ammo isn't any more powerful, just faster. So the shorter time it stayed in the barrel actually resulted in a lower total impulse energy to the slide.

So you might want to try the gun with some heavier bullet style ammo. Or if you want to use the regular and easily found HV ammo such as Blazer then it sounds like you might need to clip the recoil spring by one to one and a half turns to slightly weaken the amount of preload holding the slide closed.

In addition to the jamming take note of the distance the empties fly. A gun prone to frequent jamming will have a weak ejection distance where the empty cases either dribble out over the back of your hand or arc up and down over a foot or less distance. If I'm right then if you can try some 40gn CCI or other brand of SV ammo the ejection should be stronger with the empties flying out a good two feet or more. If the heavier bullet SV ammo does the trick then you should be able to tune your M93 to the cheaper HV stuff by clipping the recoil spring as noted.
