Kel Tec Sub 2000 ammo

Hi all. Recently got my new Sub 2000 in 9mm and having trouble finding ammunition (I'm in rural BC)

My plan was to try different brands/weights, find one my gun liked, then buy 500 or 1000. The problem is everywhere local for me is very short on 9mm (and it's expensive!). I tried some 147gr Hornady FMJ and not a single problem but now I'm thinking I should just do my online order rather than pay the local prices ($16+ for 25 rounds).

But - this means buying a crate of ammo that I've never tried in the gun - I don't want to have 500 rounds show up and have nothing but problems. Any recommendations for an ammunition that works well in your sub 2000? I'm just doing back yard target practice. Recoil isn't an issue, so anything that will give a reliable bang is good.

I've been looking through the sponsors and what I've come up with is

American Eagle FMJ (would probably go for 124 or 147's)
American Eagle FMJ flat point
Sellier & Bellot 9mm 124 grain FMJ
CCI Blazer 124gr FMJ

I'd appreciate suggestions but I'm not asking for a favourite ammo brand, I'm asking for an ammo that is actually in stock and I can buy! That is the problem, finding stock.

Heavier rounds with a rounded nose work best. Your manual or a Google search will provide all the suggestions you need. As I recall, the manufacturer recommends brass cased ammo... Avoid the aluminum cased stuff, even if it's cheaper.

My S-2000 just crave those 115 Winny FMJ, got 4.5K left from what i bought at le baron... 238.00 for 1K, from yesterday they still had some in stock... JP...
 
AE 147 actually worked like crap in mine ... i'm surprised chargerguy's gun liked it at all

Umc 115 garbage failure one in 3
Winchester white box 115 awesome but some stove pipes maybe 1 in 15
the last 80 were flawless in winchester
AE 147 fricken terrible the Glock will have to eat them
thats all I could find so far
 
MFS 115gr for me.

Filthy, not the most accurate, but runs great.

S&B 124gr has been the most accurate that I have tried so far.

That's weird, mine gobbled them up like crazy. One mag of 124 grain Blazer and the last round stove piped. Thats when I noticed the quad rail loosened off so I ended the session. Waiting to get out again.
 
i've been using 9mm Chinese surplus from lever arms in van. give them a call. works great in my jr carbine and i bet it is pickier than your sub. and you can buy it buy the crate. there is a lot of hate on this forum about these guys and it is well deserved but i still get ammo from them...
 
My berretta model seems to eat anything I feed it. Only 2 FTE's after 1000 rounds. My Glock model, on the other hand, prefers the heavier ammo. Had about 5 FTE's in 300 or so rounds with 115gr Blazer. It liked the 124gr blazer though. no jams on 100 rounds of those.

Huh? I feed mine everything and anything and it bumpfires like a drumroll!
