I prefer to shoot using the magwell as a vertical grip so it's only natural for me to hit the bolt release on the way back to it from a mag change. My hand has to pass it on the way back anyways, so I believe it saves me more time performing two separate actions in one motion rather than two separate actions in two separate motions.

Solidworks 2012. I just sat down with a beer and completely redesigned the paddle. It's more at the front of the trigger guard and doesn't stick out the side. Luckily the mechanism allows for removable paddles so I can play around with different shapes without redesigning the whole thing. This will come in handle when I build it and find one shape works better than another.

Just to be clear, this won't work on an AR15, no where to put it. This is for my billet lower I made for my AR180B. It has a larger trigger guard area and some extra material between the mag catch and fire control pocket to put the mechanism.
