Has anybody here done one?

Is it legal?

How did you do it, from scratch or parts kit???

I've heard there is a guy in Canada that builds non-restricted guns from deactivated guns also....

I would lov to hear any and all info.

Thanks for the help!!

Oh look....the link to the website of the guy who was kicked off here for suspected illegal activity, trolling, harassment, etc is still blocked.

What a shame.

I'm just asking.... Chill out guys.

I can't use the search function here to save my life.

I have no idea what ######.com means.

Thanks for the time, ideas and help. Cheers

just an old member with a certain site which pissed off quite a few members. a sorta voldamort of CGN he who must not be named.
but trust me you are not the only one who has issues with the search engine!
good luck!

You can go to w ww.weaponsguild.com. Lots of information there.

You have a couple of choices.
1. Make something with an original length barrel, and try to register it as restricted. Dollars to donuts, you will be required to submit it to the Specialized Firearms Support Services unit of the RCMP for examination.
2. Use a barrel over 18 1/2" long so that the thing may qualify for non-restricted status. If it ever attracts attention, you can be sure that it will wind up with the SFSS for examination. If the SFSS determines that it isn't acceptably semi auto, and classifies it as prohibited, you will be in for an interesting time.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no requirement to submit a privately built, one off, non-restricted firearm for examination.
However, in the event that there is a difference of opinion about whether the thing is semi auto or not, the situation could become complicated.

Sorry to skirt away from the main topic for a moment but this got my attention.

What the hell would be process if someone had a non restricted privately built firearm?

I was always wondering what it would take to have a non restricted AR180b plastic lower reverse engineered/milled out of aluminum? lol I assume it would have to be submitted for testing to the RCMP officially?

Ah, they grey areas of the law eh? :yingyang:
