I finally got mine all finished up and ready to be sighted in

I hope it shoots for you as good as it looks! How long did it take Boyd's to get that stock to you once you ordered it? Also, what did you do for the trigger guard? Did you end up ordering one from Brownells?
I am thinking of getting one like this:
I only wish I could get that style of stock (i.e., for varmint barrel) in the Applejack finish.

I think you can for like 15 extra dollars. I would call them and see, Boyds has done lots to encourage Canadians to buy there. There might be a way to keep it under 100
The stock took aprox 2 weeks from the time I orderd it. It was $149 to my door. I orderd the trigger guard directly from Marlin they have a customer service center in quebec (Phone #: 866-662-4869) I think it was $15. your best bet is to go on there website and find the model number of the gun with the trigger guard you want and ask for that (ie. if you want one in silver you will have to ask for one off a .17hmr because Marlin does not make SS 22mag with a wooden stock). If you try to explain what you are doing they will get very confused... trust me. Also for the little bit extra get the Marlin trigger guard bolt and screw its much easer than trying to source tham yourself.

Update: New bases
First off, I want to thank all of you again for steering me in the right direction with respect to the bases on this gun. I got out to shoot it today, and I had some interesting results.
The last time I shot from 115 yards, but the position was kind of uncomfortable, as it put me on a slight decline. The only way to fix this was to pull back to 125 yards, where there was a little plateau to shoot from.
The wind was nil last time, but this time there was a 4-8 mph wind.
The last time, the Hornady 30g V-Max ammo grouped a little better than the Remington 33g Accutip-V. With the new bases, that is reversed. Not only did the Remington seem to buck the wind better, but it grouped better too.
I won't bother posting pictures of the 125 yard shooting, as they are nothing special. In truth, I did learn that my absolute limit with this gun is around 125. I would probably feel more comfortable self imposing a 100 yard limit, just to be sure.
Anyway, seeing that my groups were not fantastic at 125, I moved forward to 115 to shoot a couple of groups at the end of the day. This is what it looked like:

It's a crappy group, at just under three inches. Fortunately, the Remington ammo made up for it:
That one is 1 1/8 inches, and it could have been better. I called the leftmost one - it was definitely my fault. Not sure about the lowest one.
At any rate, I will be keeping this gun.
One other thing, if I thought things were tight with the low rings before, they are certainly tighter now. The bases are a bit shorter than the old ones. Fortunately I can still pull the bolt out of the gun, so all is well.
