Anyone ever have this issue with an EOTech sight?

You sure it's a real EOTECH?

I think so..

:agree:

Let me guess, it has L3 Eotech printed on the side, right??

No. Its a mossy oak and doesn't say eotech. Just has a laser warning on the left, and two stickers underneath. 1 sticker is the "made date" and the other sticker is a "square code" with a serial number which jives with EOTech serial number..

I sure hope as hell its not fake! :(

By the way its not blurry like the video, the reticle is nice and sharp - my cam is autofocus and that sucks. The problem is just that the reticle disappears when at the sides and bottom edges.

I'll post another vid..

Youtube has lots of details on how to tell the difference. I have seen a fake and if you own the real one, it is painfully obvious. If you look on an angle, down at the unit through the glass, you will see the projector of the retical glowing inside on the fake. The real one won't be visible. There are a few other dramatic differences. Check out a couple of videos or search on google.

Here's a more detailed video.. @ 0:15 shows the grainy laser, @ 1:15 my focus is proper so you can see the sharper reticle, and in-between I show the whole sight..

i had the exact same issue (eotech 552). I returned it to the retailer and they gave me another one because it was still under warranty. My brothers eotech also has the same problem (512). I have since migrated to aimpoint because of this.

I see.. Thanks for the input, at least I know I'm not crazy lol..

Well I called EOTech and they said they get warranty stuff sent from Canada all teh time and they haven't had any issues that they know of.
I'll give it a shot and report back :)

I had to deal with warranty for a diff optics company.

I contacted them as most need a return auth #. Doing this got me their FedEx account and the scope was shipped back on their dime with all the necessary paper done by FedEx.

Maybe contact EOTECH and get them to do the legwork ?

Too late.. :(

Its already processed. So far its at the main mail processing plant. In the next two days it will end up at customs. Ill keep you guts posted whether or not the package makes it to Ann arbour..

Sorry :(

All should be well getting there, I think it's getting it home.

There was some paperwork / info I was told to write on the packaging which made it seem like it would get there without a hitch. For the record it took three days to get from the FedEx drop to Trijicon... Now I'm waiting to hear back on if I'm in luck and they'll replace/repair.

My company returns defective electronics equipment to the US all the time. Just instruct the shipper at Eotech to include the following words on the package:

Repaired Canadian Goods Returning To Canada
