Hey there. I have recently purchased a Ruger SR22 and want to put some accessories on it. As it is my first AR style gun I don't know what will work best for me. Aside from buying and trying diiferent components does anyone have any good advice that I can use? I currently only have an Eotech red dot and some Butler creek steel lips mags for it. Deffinately want rails and forend grip, vertical or angled? And maybe a bipod.
Thanks

Search for a thread with the tittle pimped sr-22s or something along that line for some ideas. Also, Dlask makes a set of rails for the sr-22 that you can use to attach whatever you want to it.

I don't see what's so facepalm about my reply. I swear the amount of threads that have been started all over this board could have been prevented if someone just took a minute to use the search function or for god sake even googled their inquiry. I have gotten mostly all of my information by reading already posted threads instead of starting new ones asking already answered questions or easily found information. Nothing against you gregoire, it just seems everyone nowadays wants people to hand them everything instead of looking for it themselves.

What?

He IS looking for it. Hes asking a question on a message board. Thats one of the main purposes of a message board.

Hey like a said this is my first AR and I have read several forums and googled the diiferent parts. It would be nice to have some advise on which ones may be a good direction to go for, 1/4 or 1/2 side rails or just go for the quad rail. Which type of forend grips people prefer? I know a lot of it will be personal preference and people may actually have something good to recommend from experiance. I probably won't get it all together for my liking the first time. I would rather buy some of the parts once instead of buying different stuff trying them all out. This is just a hooby of mine that doesn't have an endless budget, raising my family comes first. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

I went with a bottom rail and an angled foregrip. I also put a muzzle brake on because mine had the threaded barrel. I also bought a bush guard, a plug for the pistol grip,a butt pad for the stock and an ambi sling mount. If you check out Iron Eagle Tactical they have a large amount of add ons and ship for free. I can't wait till Dave gets the battledyne mags in to finish it off. Good luck with your build.

Thanks. I did like Iron Eagle, they have some nice stuff. How are they for shipping to Canada? I didn't want to have unexpected delays or expenses on top of theirs. Was there any extra duty or taxes on the stuff?

I bought my son an SR22 as his first rifle. It has the rails, magpul flip up sights, magpul angled grip and cheep-o Buckmark holo sight.
With a bipod mounted on the front the idea was that he could sit on the floor or bench and use it as an AA gun set up to strafe cans. It worked pretty good, the range FUDDs didn't know wether to ##### about all the rounds being thrown out or cheer the fact it was being done by a 4 year old.:D

It's a really fun little toy but I've found the stock trigger to be really heavy. Perhaps you should consider a trigger group upgrade, I believe mystic shooter has them.
