Remove-big tender warm fluffy huggy

Hmm, it hadn't occurred to me to put a picture on the cutout on my pistol frame. Great idea!

Haven't seen any in a goodly while. Sorry.

Dogzilla- given what section this thread is in, I highly doubt its picture frames. Use your head.

Edited for super geniuses. 1911 frames

My phsycic ability deserted me there for a moment. Yes this is the pistol section, and that would narrow it down to just a few thousand differant types of pistols. Not meaning to pick on you personally but it is all to common here for people to ask a vague question and expect a specific answer. Dlask used to offer unfinished 1911 frames, but I think he and everyone else realised that even at 80% they were beyond the capability ofthe average guy. He may still have some lying around though

what is a 80% frame?

as per normal frames (either slide to frame fitted kit or just the frame), STI cast, forged and master series frames are available at Freedom Venture as a special order. I have one of these kits coming for a custom rig - the wait is 3-4 months.

80% frames are at the point where they aren't considered firearms yet - I can think of no legitimate reason to own one - maybe I'll be educated, but this is one of those borderline issues that aren't normally addressed on CGN for legal reasons. If you're looking for a frame/slide that just need fitting, Dlask sells them, if you're looking for a true 80% forging, you're on slippery ground.

Please refer to the CGN Forum Rules and Guidelines respecting homemade firearms, for a guide to what is acceptable here.
The sale of so-called 80% receivers is not allowed on CGN.
A number of CGN members have legally made firearms.

Correct me if I'm wrong but couldn't I legally acquire a 80% frame or lower for the purpose of creating a deact .. A non functioning display gun especially since ARs are so hard to dewat.. I have a real problem with being treated as a criminal by our own.. Isn't that what we are against?

Well, I think our very special replica laws might come into play there. If it was never activated, how could it be deactivated. Might be considered a prohibited replica. There is something fundamentally wrong when a fake gun is more illegal than a real gun.

I would have to agree here, because it was never a firearm the rcmp would most likely view it as a replica.

I don't see the fuss everyone creates over 80% stuff. Its not a gun. Its a paper weight.

I agree but if its just a frame and you use real parts to finish your "dewat" is it really a replica? It's 90% real gun

Wow, how liberal of you all. Jumped right to the assumption that something criminal is to happen. I just posted this because I want an 80% frame. I made no attempt at anything slippery or illegal. Should I assume you're all the wife beaters that the NDP warned everyone about? Yall need to chill the f out, on your hysteria nonsense.

In the newbie FAQ's there is a guide to what is considered out of bounds on this forum, 80% frames are specifically mentioned. It's not about being anti-anything, or nanny state whipping dogs, it's actually about legal liability. Same reason Dlask doesn't sell them anymore. As far as the guy talking about it being difficult to dewat an AR - WTF are you talking about, dewatting an AR is as easy as dewatting any other firearm, and easier than some.

enefgee ^^^ I couldn't find it anywhere. Can you quote for us please? If that is censored knowledge, I'll go back and bighug the hell outta this whole thread. Thanx for the heads up though
