From the same people who brought you the shoe string machine gun.....

Grand Power have been getting ass raped trying to get some models approved for import in the US.

The irony is the solution may be to reverse the change they made to satisfy BATFE in the first place.

Prior to the STI agreement, Grand Power guns were serialed on the barrel with a matching number on the slide. BATFE insist on a serial numbered frame.
OK, the new grip had a Glock like metal plate added for a serial number plate. Voila! US legal.....

Except the "frame" is structurally insignifigant. The frame holds the magazine in position, and is where the trigger is attached. If I took the grip off the gun, I could still load the chamber and fire it as a single shot.

Now trying to import the .22lr model, they lose points for caliber under 9mm. The solution may be to change the parts diagram and include a window in the grip to show the serial number on the frame (insert).

I know I feel safer....
