getting a trigger lock off

So i went to clean and oil my sks thats been sitting in the safe for a while now, and I have a WEEEEEE problem. I have a trigger lock on it and wasn't able to find the key.... Im gonna keep looking but if i can't track it down, has anyone had to saw/hack/smash one off and if so how do you go about it???

YouTube it all you need is a butter knife or a small blade screw driver.

Stick a small pick or similar between the rubber and the lock body. Push it in until you depress the ratchet and it'll pop right off.

sweet thanks guys, I always look for advice on here, and then someone usually reminds me that I can find damn near anything on youtube haha. On an update i might have found the key so ill try it when i get home from work today

Easier then a cable lock with no key lol. Those things take some work to cut through.

Here's a really neat video from Defcon about gun locks, gun "safes", and how stupidly easy it actually is to break them open. The relevant trigger lock bit starts at the 4 minute mark, give or take. Just... don't blink - it doesn't put up a fight at all.

I just bought a bunch of new trigger locks...and found that the keys to these new locks opened some of my older trigger locks as well. So if you know someone handy with some keys, it won't hurt to try.

+1, once OP gets the lock off. I have no keyed locks anywhere relating to firearms, keys can get misplaced and are never handy when you really need them. Combination locks guarantee I can always access everything, any time I need to.

Got it open with the key that i found! defintely will be switching to combo locks in the future though
