Brimstone trigger woes

I sent off my 10/22 trigger group to Brimstone for the Tier 1 trigger job back in December. I got an email at the end of December that it was ready to ship. According to the USPS tracking he shipped it Jan 2. The last scan was at a USPS sort facility in LA on Jan 6 and I have yet to receive my trigger. I asked him to contact USPS and they are basically saying to wait as it has left the USA and they can't track it anymore. Canada Post tracking isn't available. What is a reasonable amount of time to wait? I'm almost considering buying a Kidd or Timney trigger at this point and then selling the Brimstoned trigger if/when it ever arrives to offset the cost...

across the border stuff is a grand pain in the ass. I hear you. I have waited weeks and weeks for car parts that were already in canada. I watched a tracking number on a set of tires get into Richmond, then get sent back across the border and then get stuck in bumble:bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug: south dakota for a couple weeks before back to richmond.

Just stick with it, it will show up. I have never heard anything but glowing reports on Brimstone stuff.

The thing is, I have ordered tons of stuff from the USA before. Everything from batteries to expensive wheels for my car. Have never had delays like this. Wonder if it's being held by customs?

His work is under $100, ok for BATF export... it will be at Canada Customs and there is no restriction on import... this kind of thing happens all the time... it may be sitting on a shelf or bottom of a bin... waiting sucks but be patient, it will show up... I have half a dozen of David's triggers (we worked out the Canadian special together) and they are well worth the wait...

I sent my group a week ago to brimstone. I hope I don't run into the same problems you had.........

Hope you get your trigger back soon man

Ok, it's been 6 weeks and the trigger has not arrived. I am going to contact Brimstone and have them initiate an insurance claim with USPS. This totally sucks. On the bright side, my FV-SR is a dream to shoot and has a wonderful factory trigger!

Sorry about that partner... that sucks for sure... I still think that customs is sitting on it, and it may yet show up... it is also possible that a worker recognized it for what it was and it went home with him in his pocket... bummer.

holy jesus! man that is a horror story, mine is in Daves hands right now I really hope it makes it back here. It supposed to arrive by the 21st so I'll let you guys know what happens. He sent me an email saying that it had arrived and that he would also send an email when it leaves his shop. Grandpooh, did you get the same type of correspondance when you sent your group?? keeping my fingers crossed now.......

David's correspondence has been fine, my only complaint is it takes him a few days to respond by email. But I got emails from him when the trigger arrived and when he shipped it. The problem seems to be with customs but there is no way to know as the package cannot be tracked. USPS tracking ended when it left the US and Canada Post's system hasn't picked it up yet. I'll keep everyone updated once this gets resolved.

IME Canada Post will not pick-up the tracking... evry package I have ever received from the USA showed it ending at the border, then it arrived at my door some time later... sometimes MUCH later... but the tracking never progressed from the border.

Any way to pay for tracking? damn I will pay extra to have it tracked. I really hope it works out for you man.....and myself too! but all i can say is that everything i've ever gotten from the US for firearms parts has takin at LEAST 2 1/2 - 3 weeks to arrive so just keep your spirits up. Regardless Im thinking about emailing him and telling him about your experience to see if maybe he can figure out how to avoid such a stressful situation from now on. My groups already been gone for well over 2 weeks i don' think i could wait as long as you have. Its the only trigger group I got!

Just an update for those interested, I finally had time to call David this week. The trigger was shipped exactly 2 months ago today and still has not arrived. David does not insure the packages he ships with USPS as it is not cost effective for him. This is only the 2nd or 3rd one he has ever had go missing in the thousands that he has shipped. So he is doing up a new one for me and will be shipping it out next week. Hopefully this one fares better.

Well thats good news anyway, good thing he stands by his product even if it does get lost. Makes me feel a whole lot better when mine goes to ship home

On the bright side, I got tired of waiting so I ordered a Kidd two stage trigger from Fabsports. It should be here sometime this week. I'll see which one I prefer and then sell the other.

I remember waiting over 3 months for a parcel to come from Vegas to SE Sask. It ended up coming through customs in Montreal. I couldn`t believe it. When I finally received it, it looked like some HOBO kicked it along the ground from Vegas to my place. Never again, if I can`t find it in Canada....I don`t need it that bad.

I have ordered hundreds of products from the USA over the past 40 years... I can count on one hand the number of problems that I have had... the problem is that people talk a lot about the problems, but take the successes for granted... I don't worry about it. I have had more problems shipping across Canada than from the US to Canada.

Finally got an email back from David at Brimstone. I guess they are so backed up that my replacement trigger only just shipped today. So I have been without my factory trigger group since the beginning of December. FML...

The Kidd two stage sure makes the wait a lot more bearable though. :D
