LEGAL 10 round SKS with detachable mag...accomplished!..

Tell him when he gets it all worked out and a cnc program made to start pumping them out in black and I am sure he will have hundreds to sell in Canada and thousands in the US.I know I,ll take 2 to start!Thanks--Dieseldog!

I have a Norinco that is begging for this conversion.

Thats for a Grizzly, which is a shotgun. This thread is about SKS rifles.

I did read it first..... I just thought it might answer some questions. Maybe he would make you a mag if ya talke to him

I did this conversion on my sks and it works fine. I'm sure if the adapter was made out of polymer it would function just fine but the reciever and bolt would still need to be milled.

I'd like to spend minimum $500 to make my $120 gun function with detachable magazines. Where do I sign up?
LOL! is that sarcasm, or did you mean to say maximum?

either way, this mod is interesting, but in reality you're just spending so much money, just so when you're at the range to have to reload half as many times...

if it was mass produced and was drop-in, including the bolt and was like $150 or something it wouldn't be so bad...

Imo if the whole rifle was sold with the conversion and came with a mag it could potentially be worthwhile. Buy a crate of sks's, make a batch of adapters, mill recievers and put it all together. Mass production would be the way to go to keep prices down.

^^^ lol
No really how much would these be? 200 or less?

It would be really appealing if there were no gun mods, but this is not possible with sks

Dude is selling them in the EE right now for $250 a piece. Ridiculous. But shooters have long since grown weary of five round rifles and some will pay anything to get their fix.

I'm sorry, can you clarify your statement? Who is selling what on EE? Adapters? Can i see the link please.

Anywho, i wanted to give people an update.

Progress has been slow. Being side tracked by different manufacturing processes and people who promise #### they cant deliver on, has been a major one. Ofcourse life gets in the way too.

I wanted to show you latest version.

As i've stated before, I will not price this thing more than the average price of the SKS. Thats pointless. Sure, some people will pay for it, like someone mentioned earlier, there are those who will give $100+ for a beowulf magazine. I want this thing to be affordable, so LOTS of you guys can go and enjoy it. Making it out of alu with a CNC i was being quoted at $150, that doesnt take into account the mag release, springs or any of my time. Making them at home is NOT an option. I have a well paying full time job and to spend all my free time in the garage paying myself $5 is just not worth it. Having said that, upon urging of my friends and family i have started the patent application format. If these adapters come out they will have a pat pending label on them.

With that being said here is the latest.

I've dwelved into CAD and learning 3d design. So that was a steep curve. I've done some CAD stuff 2 years ago briefly while working but switched jobs before i could really jump into it.

I've decided to try and make the adapters out of polymer. Fancy name for plastic to be honest. This is what i'd like to do. I would love to sell these for cheap, so cheap that you consider them a throwaway item that you can replace if it fails and not feel bad about it. Cheaper than what the milling of the receiver would cost. Get this thing in EVERYONE's hands. If this fails i will basically call it quits and select few people will get them. The aluminum adapters are not completed yet, but once those are done, i will sell them and forget about this project, enjoy my own shooting time.

I remember that some of you have asked that the adapter allow the magazine to be fed from stripper clips. I'm happy to say that its been accomplished as well. Here's a short video. Mind you i'm pushing down with one finger while balancing the gun on my lap and recording with my other hand.

questions? comments? I know a lot of you will be dissapointed that no metal adapter is coming. Its just not feasible for me to continue down that path.

Ever heard of kickstarter???? might be worth your time, plus you get the upfront investment to see interest in the product

EDIT: they dont allow firearms, but no mention of accessories.... but prob not

Lol. Not to sound condescending but that website is a liberals antigun nirvana. Id have better luck selling snow to eskimos than raising $$$. Besides. Raise money for what? Its not capital thats lacking. Certain manufacturing processes will simply price the product out of large market segments unless i mske it in china, which is not happening.
