Best commentary/review I've read on the SR9 to date was on ..... (drum roll, please .....) - a GLOCK forum!

He started out by saying he knew he was going to be pilloried for his heretical opinion, but didn't let his predisposed Glock bias get in the way of his evaluation. The more he worked with the SR9, the more he liked it.

SR9's are decent and I have owned a few but for same price point, I would go (and have) Glock everytime. Yes, Glocks can be bought for same as SR's. P.O., sporteque, EE etc.

As most have said pick the one that "feels" the best and shoot as many as you can before buying. If you don't like it you can still learn from the experience and then just sell it.

The one thing I like about my 1911 is that I can bring it up with my eyes closed and when I open my eyes the sights are lined up (similar to checking fit on a shotgun). It just fits my hands/body well and is an excellent shooter for me.

Good luck.

I like my Beretta 92 Inox - but it is a little on the large grip size. Best is to try as many different ones as you can. In the end, it won't matter which one you buy because you will ultimately end up buying a bunch more - it is inevitable when you get hooked.

This man is correct listen only to him :)

So, if he listens only to him, as you have advised, then he shouldn't listen to you? Meaning that the advise of listening only to him is lost... And leaving him wondering if the advise given was good or not, since advise from anyone else is omitted... And for that matter, if listening only to him, and not to you, perhaps he will not listen only to him, and take other advise into consideration, then finding your advise and starting this whole vicious circle all over again...

My head hurts... lol

To OP, the best advise here are the ones that say pick what feels best to you. I love my S&W M&P 9, others hate them. It's personal preference just like the sneakers that you wear, I buy Nike, others hate Nike. It's what fits YOU best.
