Does anyone know of any dealers in Canada who have this model in stock? I've looked at the Remington 870p and the Mossberg 590, and then found that Browning had made this version of the BPS...

Unfortunately, I'm not aware of any current stocking dealers. However, I do know that P&D Enterprises, Lake Huron Rod and Gun, and The Gun Dealer have had them in stock over the last year. There are a couple that have sold through the EE, so perhaps try a WTB ad.

I bought one last year, and found the fit-and-finish to be top rate. I think the most-referenced negative against the BPS as an HD shotgun is the lack of an ejection port for doing a tactical reload. I bought mine to take hiking in our wet forests, and it suits that purpose perfectly.

Really? I always thought the whole point of an HD weapon was that it's used inside your own home. So guess whose property gets destroyed by anything not completely stopped by a BG? How many shotgun blasts are these critics of the BPS planning to put through their own walls, furniture and personal knickknacks anyway?

Excellent review, thanks for posting the link. I have the BPS Trap gun with a Skeet barrel. If I decide to replace my Mossberg Mariner it would be with a BPS.

Take Care

Bob

Did you see this on your GunDigest daily calendar? Guess what today is? Pic of the Browning BPS All-Weather High Capacity. I had an actual high capacity (8 rounds) that I likely would have kept if it looked like the All Weather version. I like it....

Like you, I also had one of the original High Caps, but when I bought the All Weather, I sold the High Cap. It's almost always raining when I hike/hunt, so the finish on the AW is better suited. The standard mag also gives me the option of putting on a longer barrel if I want to use the shotgun for a dedicated bird hunt, but there is also the option of having the standard 20" barrel threaded for chokes.

To the OP, you might also want to check out the new Winchester SXP Marine:

Nice looking gun too. The ability to use standard Winchester chokes is a nice bonus. I looked through some of the site sponsors though, and couldn't find anybody who carries it. Any ideas where it might be found?

I don't believe it's hit dealer shelves yet (only announced at Shot Show 2013); however, Grouse River Outfitters shows it listed on their website for $399 (the standard Marine model)... would be worth calling them to ask.
