Browning lever 22, any complaints?

I'd really like to put a Skinner peep sight on the receiver. Anyone have one mounted?
Does the front sight have to be changed to line up with the receiver peep sight?
 
I've never owned one. My experience is limited to having to work on customers' guns. From that standpoint, I don't care for them.
But from the standpoint of working on them, I really hate BLRs.
 
browning bl-22......my second one (a Grade II) is on the way as we speak. never had an issue with the first, love the short throw. i've had a couple Henry Golden Boys as well, nice rifle for sure, just doesn't compare to browning....then again, i'm biased. as for whether the Grade II is worth the extra dough, that's a personal preference, it's simply the "look" that's different, the internals are the same....buy 1 and TONS of ammo and try to catch the guy that put 100,000 through his. enjoy
 
Just bought a used one at a gun show in Renfrew.
Peep sights on it, looks like the front sight was raised to accommodate.
I was pleasantly surprised at how accurate it was. A lot of fun to shoot.
Going to be a lot cheaper to feed than my BLR .308.
 
I was considering one, and the only thing that changed my mind was the reports of the trigger weight and resulting accuracy.

I ended up with a couple CZ's instead. Sights are better, trigger is better, and a tube magazine is no good when your on and off quads all day after grouse.

All that said, I still have a huge want for the Browning. Such a beautiful piece.

I have had my eye on one of these for quite some time. I nearly bought one last year, but my gun budget didnt quite allow for it ( I was buying a .22 AND a Browning Shotgun) I settled on a Savage bolt action and scope instead. A few months back I was considering selling the Savage to fund either a CZ 455 American, or a BL-22.

The savage wasnt performing up to my liking; action was rough and gritty after the first few hundred rounds, safety was sticky, and accuracy was not bad, but not fantastic, and the plastic stock was something to be desired. Well, after removing all the burrs from the bolt, polishing it, tweaking the safety for better operation, and running some more rounds through it I was happy. Then I fed it some Mini Mags and stingers, and the thing is deadly accurate even with a cheap *** scope on it... So I guess shes a kepper...

BUT... A lever action is calling my name, and I cant afford to play with centerfires, so I really think a BL-22 is coming soon... The biggest problem is Grade I or II? I'm leaning towards the II as it matches my shotgun, with gold trigger, checkering, and I love the scrollwork on the receiver. (I wanted an engraved receiver on my shotgun, but it didnt come in the model I wanted)

Better hurry up and get me a new job so I can go shopping!
 
Great rifle, got one from my dad when I was 14. I have never had a problem with it, which is good because if you ever had to take it apart it would be a nightmare to work on. Probably the most complex lever action out there
