Where To Buy A Brass Catcher?

I am wondering where i can pick up a brass catcher. The only one I have been able to find is the $375 on on Wolverine which is a lot more than I am willing to spend. Any help is appreciated.

I just got one for my XCR an JR from E&L MFG .Baught a extra set of rods to switch the catcher from one to the other.They are light and cheaper than most at $49.95.hope this helps
 
$375 for a fackin' bag that attaches to the side of a rifle?!

If I had that much money I would just hire people to take my rifles to the range to shoot them for me and pick up the brass too.

Shooting guns is such a hassle! lol :rolleyes:
 
If you are firing at a range many firearms throw forward of the firing line and very far if outdoors. Takes way too much time finding the brass especially if people are impatient when you ask for a cease fire. The range I'm at (sometimes) enforces a policy of once the brass hits the ground it's theirs. They do collect the brass to sell to a reloading company. So there are good reasons to have a brass catcher besides lazyness.
 
It's not laziness, have you tried picking up brass in the snow? It's near impossible once it melts into the snow, also the brass bouncing off the ground and poles and what not gets damaged.
 
Picking up brass in snow, as it gets deeper becomes increasingly impossible: The brass takes much heat from the chamber, and melts near through to the ground. Brass catchers are not intended to encourage sloth, but efficiency and consideration for other range users.

When I want to shoot my pistols I lay a large tarp (10'X10' I would have used a canvas to resist being blown but didn't have one) positioned to my right and slightly rear of center. This worked so well even with the randomely ejected 45 from a 1911, that I will continue the practice in the summer to avoid pawing through the grass.
 
I use the E&L brass catcher and it works great on both my Swiss Arms and STI AR. Great for when you are hunting coyotes.

or ebay, I think I paid under $15 for mine and it straps to my AR's and Sub2000 and my buddy's XCR (most semi's without reciprocating charging handle).
 
We have some different AR15 brass catchers on the way. I'll post some details once they are here. My credit card was billed today by the company we purchased them from so I'm hoping they ship shortly.

Caldwell makes one that works rather well. I've used it on my AR and XCR-M with no problem. It really is the absolute way to go when shooting off the bench in the winter. I use it in the summer when shooting prone simply because it makes life easier. It does start to sag, but, all it does then it stop the brass from being flung off. I got it at a bass pro in the states for $20. Well worth it, given that the one time I didn't have it with the XCR I lost a pile of brass in the snow due to being on the max gas setting.
