Para Ordnance 1911 canadian forces

Dilligaf, how long did it take you to get them to do anything?

Over a year ... North Sylva Even charged me to downgrade to a G.I 1911. That was classy of them. and that gun also turned out to be a piece of sh!t. The frame came with a chunk missing off the frame.

I would love to sh!t in the mouth of the gunsmiths .(I used that term as loosely as a Vegas hooker on meth.) That build those 2 Para's

And both guns wouldn't group to save my life. Bought a Sig Target 1911 and never looked back.

Well, finally got some good news. Para DID get back to me today, and are mailing me an extractor. They said that should solve my feeding issues, I am kinda skeptical about that though.... We will find out in a while. I don't know why, but they said it will take at least 3 weeks to get the extractor to me.

DILLIGAF, Its too bad you got treated like a piece of **** wrapped in skin, but good job on the SIG. I have heard nothing but good about those.

Updates to follow.

Just a year? Mine took at least a full two years for them to contact me by which time I didn't want it due to all the problems with the product, delivery time, etc.

Does anybody know if the any of the keys from the TLR1 will fit the para rail? my para rails are quite shallow. besides the blackhawk xiphos light does the tlr1 or the x300 fit? my tlr1 only has the glock key for my g17 and its not compatible.

I had only tried the TLR1 and X300. They both DID NOT fit. Period. Although I just got an INFORCE APL from Sheepdog Tactical in Ottawa and it fits everything I have like a glove.

- Update - I STILL do not have an extractor from PARA. Its only been about 2 months since they said it was on its way. They will be getting more hatemail from this angry, stinky, bearded caveman. I just don't want to give up on this pistol. I will have it running like a top eventually, mind you, I will NEVER buy a Para again. Pretty to look at, thats about it.

Busted extractor ~ 350rounds

I won a para 1445 a couple of years back. Thing shoots great. Very accurate. Did have a couple of small issues with feeding but like someone already said its the extractor 99% of the time. Easy fix.

i got one of the earliest para TF-108 single stack nite-tacs. i got home oct of 08 and didn't receive the pistol until 8 months later. i received 6 pistols total, from other troops who did not have their PALs at the time. they had consecutive serial numbers. there was a mix up where they sent me the wrong pistol in the right case. good thing i checked. as a new pistol they sure had a lot of finish missing on them. the sand finish looked as if it was half baked on there, with over runs and deposits in the grooves. the trijicon night sites were real nice but para didn't make those. all 6 pistols had varying quality in their laser lettering. some slides wobbled a bit, some didn't. i was glad it had a two side safety, as i am a lefty but it needed an incredible amount of force to operate. the magazines were real cheap, dropped free but the cheap plastic floor plate would bust off. the surefire x300 fit real snug on mine. as far as functioning goes mine was a good shooter, i think i got lucky. i haven't heard about any problems with the other guys as of yet. i don't think they shoot em much just a keepsake kinda thing.

Well, I'll be phuqed. I gave up on this as much as I had given up on life.
Got an oversized USPS Priority Mail cardboard envelope. Packed on Nov 30 2012. I had it dropped off at my cave of residence this morning.
inside is 1 x EGW 1pc 1911 extractor valued at $14.47

Now to slap her all together, wait for the CFO to get off their fanny and issue out this years ATT's and run it through a variety of copper-coated candies and see if it actually works. I have also replaced every spring in the thing with Wilson Combat. SO.... here praying to the norse gods of war that it will run like a "high-end" 1911 out of the box should.

Have a Royal day.

Even if it didn't shoot, it's a thing of beauty. you know. If u just wanted a gun with cyrillic farsi Arabic you could just bought a tariq when frontier had them. Haha

Did it came with those grips? I have a flat dark earth single-stack .45 ACP from 2009 and all the controls and the grips were black. Those grips are nice!

Nothing snapped off of mine yet! I've heard really bad things about their "power extractors" and I'm pretty sure that is the first thing that will fail with mine. Keeps going strong for now, though!

Mine came with the same grips as yours. I threw on a set of VZ recon II's I think they were in desert camo and inset some bling. Nothing but problems with mine. When I FINALLY get it to work properly, I will do a list of the changes I made.

Update! Finally!

I got to hit the range today. Hammered out 1k rounds from the "Tour 1911". Half were handloads with dirty dirty HS6. I don't recommend this powder for .45 at all. So much for multitasking powders....

I had a couple feed issues with my handloads, and that is something I will have to play around with on my side.
She ate up 500 rounds of factory ammo, all 230gr, except the Hornady TAP. There was some S&B in there, CCI Blazer, and Federal. I haven't really tried accuracy on this yet, this was just a fun shoot, solely keeping in mind how she was functioning.

So far, this is all I had to change to make it work.
- Wilson Combat spring set (factory recoil spring was binding up on the 1pc guide rod something fierce)
- Wilson Combat extended slide lock/release (factory one was deformed and did not work at all. Always stuck)
- EGW extractor (only took Para a few months...)
- ACT mags x 5
- Some fine tuning (sights were WAY off, polishing of chamber and feed ramp, small fitment of parts.)
- Dlask mainspring housing (original was plastic. Ewwww.....)

After 1K rounds of dirty dirty ammo. Mmmmm....

After a good cleaning.

Next I will refine handloads, and see what kind of groups I can get with this dirty dirty whore.
