Magpul fore end with 12.5 inch barrel 870.

Or I could roll with a standard forward sling point.... Have my trigger finger in the safe position above the guard against the receiver, rack a round, depress the safety and then place my finger inside the guard and fire. Instead of awkwardly extending my finger forward to release the slide, then rack, then safety... Then fire.
Unfortunately that particular MOE for end extends too far forward for a conventional forward side sling plate.

Do you hunt with an empty chamber, loaded mag tube, and open action?
If so, why bother with the safety at all?

12's are super bad ass. Wide open forend choices & very compact. The SGA stock provides shorter LOP with 99% less punching self in the face.

it's fine as you can see here:

Thats alot of koolaid in one picture

IKR, I'm a big fan of the MOE stuff... And I didn't have a pic of the 870 by itself.
Cool thing with the forend too is it fits around the Dlask 12.5 profile as is, no sanding needed.

I see what your saying..... the action is engaged (or cocked) preventing the slide from coming forward.....
Where I am going is....I don't really like walking around with a round in the chamber, and in a high stress situation having to depress the trigger and fire an empty chamber to rack a round doesn't really fly for me..... Thus having a sling point on the slide doesn't work in my world.

Carry it hammer down on an empty chamber with a full mag. Then you can rack the slide whenever you want and having the sling attached to the forearm shouldn't make any difference.

^ it's not a bad looking stock set in green actually. The tan version is just hideous though. Maybe it's growing on me....

Just got around to picking up the stock set in Calgary at TSE yesterday. Got home today and had 'er on in about 20 minutes. Very impressed and cant wait to sling some lead with this bad boy now. Next project is to Dura-Coat the gun.

Never use the safety on an 870 platform, just don't. They will not prevent a discharge if the firearm is dropped or even if the trigger is pulled hard (seen it).
If you must carry it then do so without a round in the chamber until you require it. Practice accessing the action lock or run it hammer down (my preference).
Personally I prove safe, then drop the hammer, then load the tube.

I've run drills on the shot timer and there is almost no difference between using the safety or pumping a round into the chamber with the hammer down.
