Could the most accurate rifle be a takedown...

Is Roger something of a legend because he owns so many high end expensive guns or because he consistantly takes the gold in competitions and is known for preformance ? I ask because after watching the vids of Roger shooting without seeing bullet holes i have cause to wonder . While shooting his Nemisis there is no loading of the bipod on a hard surface , the trigger appears yanked , Roger seems to have a serious eye blink/flinch upon firing , there is no follow through and while the left hand on the right bicep works , a rear bag works better . Then when we see him shoot the next two rifles , the first may be a Savage while the second an AI there is no recoil management with him loosely holding the butts to his shoulder with both rifles and he's getting booted . So , if he's a gold medal shooter , great , if he only owns expensive guns then his opinion is no more valid than JP's reports . As to guys using the term "benchrest" in this thread , why ? The Nemisis is a long range precision/sniper/ tactical type rifle , not a benchrest gun . I've never seen a Nemisis and don't know Caramel or Roger but if Roger shoots all of his high end guns the same way he shot the three in the vid i kinda doubt we'll get an accurate preformance appraisal . Of course i may be wrong as Roger may be an F-Class , sniper class , TR class , benchrest champ that can shoot the eyes out of a snake at 300 yards and has the cups , medals , trophies and awards . No disrespect meant to Roger and no disrespect meant to Carmel just because i'd like to mic some of his groups .

Can you please post some videos of yourself shooting a rifle and/or targets you've shot. It's important that you learn to experience the other side of the "Internet equation" as well as the side you were indulging in above. Thanks for your cooperation.

one thing iv notice in all the shooting videos posted, is that after the shot if fired the shooter has to come out of the shooting position to cycle the bolt, and on bolt close they are closing slowly and looking to make sure a round is picked up. If you ask me if you need to run your bolt slow and look into the port to make sure a round is chambered, it sorts of takes away the appeal of the reliability of a bolt gun. any of my top end guns, even my 700s, as long as the bolt isnt short stroked, i can run them as fast and hard as i want with out a worrying about a FTfeed, and i can stay in my shooting position to do it

That is not Roger/Nemo in the posted video............

No doubt these rifles shoot very well. I suspect that their performance is inspite of, rather than because of, the takedown feature.

I love how Caramel sucks everyone into these threads time and again lol

Yup. Another (7) pages of people repeating the same things that have been said in the last dozen threads Caramel has created on his wunder-ghewer.

It's a gun forum and if some guy wants to post about his Corvette and expensive guns I don't see the big deal? I can see where it's hard for people not to feel some resentment when a guy is talking up his expensive possessions but I for one am happy that guys like Caramel are spending big bucks on shooting and I'm sure the good folks at Wanstalls appreciate it as well!

No i can't . I'm not a legend as you said Roger is . I have a TicTac .223 with a Sightron , a BA .338LM with a Sightron and my main shooter is a Savage 10FCP McMillan , glass and pillar bedded , Holland muzzle brake , Warren 20 MOA base , TPS low 30 mil rings with a Sightron 6 x 24 x 50 MOA/MOA . I can shoot them quite well but have never reached legendary status to the point where my expertise is so great that my word will cancel out another member because of my legendary ability or my legendary wallet allowing me to purchase the highest end legendary guns . I claim no such status , but you did so you prove it up . You can buy the highest end fast car if you can afford it but let's see you place even last at Talladega . Same with high end super fast expensive sport bikes . You can own 'em but it doesn't mean you can ride 'em . Again , no disprespect meant to Roger and he may be the best ever and if he is then surely you can post his accomplishments , vids and pics of cups , medals , trophies and awards while definately will give him the status to declare Carmels gun no good and not capable of shooting extremely well . I can't post anything like that because i'm not a legend and the only thing i've ever won was a .22 event at a trappers association shoot . Thanks for your cooperation and as with Carmels groups , i'd like more proof regarding Rogers legendary ability . Your words , not mine .

This is getting silly. The gun club and CGN member being talked about has never claimed any status let alone that of being a legend - a title or sobriquet awarded to him by Ghostie - and in the vids posted that isn't him shooting anyway. Caramel has made oft repeated claims of amazing accuracy out of his Nemesis and, if I recall, at least one other rifle. Such claims have never been verified but that, in and of itself, doesn't render them false. I have questioned the accuracy claims but that's just me - maybe I am struggling to accept world records out of a take-down tactical rifle that, at least to the best of my knowledge, isn't used by any serious F-Class or BR shooter - others are, however, more accepting. Though I have done a wee bit of shooting over the years and am pleased to have passed both of UTG's recent challenges I doubt even if the Nemesis were capable of such accuracy my ability would be sufficient to replicate the claimed results.

I think you are all taking this far to literally. All that was implied is that the gentleman is known for having some very high end rifles and likely has the experience to quantitivley appraise their ability without prejudice. That is all.

Yah, no kidding Macro. The kids are coming out, and they've got their panties in a knot.

Roger is a "legend" (notice I used quotes when I said this... hint, hint, tongue firmly in cheek) at our range because there is no one anywhere, at any range, that has a quarter of the exotic stuff he has. He's also a really nice guy, a great shot, and a good friend of mine. I just call him a "legend" to tease him. He's definitely been a "legendary" fixture at the PCDHFC for many years. He knows his gear. He's helped me out alot over the years, and personally I would value his take on anything new in the area of precision rifles over the people who only have limited experience with precision rifles -which is almost everyone on here.

And yah... the guy you identified in the videos is not Roger. That's the guy that bought the Nemesis. He is a new shooter, or he certainly was at the time that video was taken. Don't feel too bad for him though. That women in the video is his ladyfriend.

I'd like to know more about this Roger guy. If he's a legend I've never heard about till now.

Check out his channels on youtube.
