WC735 load data

I'm up to 41.5 gr with my M-14, and there are no signs of pressure with Hornady 150gr SPs, and/or FMJs. That is the max if you go by the 5% faster than H335 rule. No issues in the M-14 or my buddies Savage. I'm not near my load data so I don't have a velocity right now. Definately not a hot load though.

Use H335 loading data, minus 10% by weight.

This was a commercial surplus powder. Not a military surplus powder.

I used up 7 pounds of it and liked it a lot.

I found that their starting load was very close to what I was looking for.

I found it a much better powder in smaller cases and smaller diameters. It isn't ideally suited for the 308 Win but it will be satisfactory.

The 10% figure, is a bit off but close enough, on the safe side.

I found I usually had to add a bit to the start load for the best balance between velocity and accuracy.

Just one note, the suggested starting load for H335 is 43.0 grains for your bullet weight. W735 is faster by about 8%, depending on which batch you have. 10% is safe.

Funny thing though, the starting loads were always the most accurate for this powder.

It was fantastic powder in the 223 Rem and the 22-250

I just inherited 30 pds of it. it must be very close to H322 in speed then. will start at 39-40. just thought some of you may have already worked some up to a lil closer to top end
I have a feeling it may work decent in 303 aswell

This powder worked great for me in the 7.61x39 and 30-30. I tried loads in ,308, .303 and 30-06 all using lead boolits with little to no sucess. The powder seems to work best in smaller cases.

Take Care

did some playing thismorning. started at 36 gr with a 155 palma sierra out of a M14 with a USGI bolt and bbl over a crony

36 gr = 2386
40 gr = 2596
42gr = 2714
43gr = 2794
43.5 = 2816

primer is a bit flat but not bad so far happy, now to load some up at 43.5 and see what the paper says

Did you run that load over a chrony by chance? Sounds like it could be a good one for hunting.

For the 308Win, I settled on 43.0 grains at very similar velocities to yours. In my rifle, the loads just kept getting tighter and tighter groups until I reached 43.0. Then they started opening up again.

Velocity was acceptable and accuracy was excellent and repeatable.

I stopped there.

I firmly believe it was another powded developed for smaller cartridges. It was on of the best performers, accuracy and velocity wise in the 223Rem and 22-250.

As mentioned, it should be good in the 7.62x39 and 30-30 but it has a very sharp pressure curve when it reaches a certain point. Careful loading for both of those cartridges in SKS and Mod 94 rifles is a must.
