is there anything worse then dumping like $1,000 into a old gun and then having to wait 3-4 months before you can get into the range to test it!
No. No there is not. That's why I'm very happy that the range that I joined has a covered, heated firing line and some of the members have trucks with plows to plow out the road in to the range.
You must really love that little gun... I don't think I could ever justify putting $1000 into a .22lr
Well, a very high quality 22 rimfire will set you back at least 2½X that figure!! lol.
Additionally, I know some on here that have not only one, but 2 or 3 of these types of rimfires.
It's a passion, and money becomes no object in soothing our passions.
