No. No there is not. That's why I'm very happy that the range that I joined has a covered, heated firing line and some of the members have trucks with plows to plow out the road in to the range.

You must really love that little gun... I don't think I could ever justify putting $1000 into a .22lr

Well, a very high quality 22 rimfire will set you back at least 2½X that figure!! lol.

Additionally, I know some on here that have not only one, but 2 or 3 of these types of rimfires.
It's a passion, and money becomes no object in soothing our passions. :D

Fair enough, when you are passionate about something you might as well have the best.

I didn't check the group size but a recent 200yd competition yielded a target all inside the 9 or better on an ISU target. That was with apertures on a Rem 40X using Lapua Master M.

it stared with me wanting to just dust off my fav gun from childhood with a hogue stock.
then when i got it i found out it would fit both the normal barrel and a bull.
always wanted a bull barrel, so picked one up.
didnt know they came cheaper then $250 for a TS aluminum fluted one, haha.
then of course once your into it that far whats another $40 here and $90 there for a new trigger.... hammer.... auto bolt release...
and since your doing all that who is gonna complain if you replace the trigger group for $350.

i think i might just replace the last 2 parts that are from the original gun and then remake the original and just call this what it really is.... my midlife gun crisis!
 
I can do 1" at 50m (the scope is parallax free at 50)
I should be able to do 4" at 200 but at only 100m the group size goes something like 10-12".
Could be that the small size stock doesn't allow for a good cheek weld.
 
got to range thursday ,spent couple hours testing ammo.still too many flyers.will sort for concetricity,and weight.just playing around till I get under 4 inch.Any suggestions on consistent ammo that does not break the bank.
 
Check list:
-used CZ 452
-added scope (Leapers, off an airgun)
-added a bi-pod
-this week: pick up some Eley ammo
-this week: smooth out the trigger
-weekend in April reserved just for this challenge
-prepare to embarrass myself publically
 
Well I have decided to try this with my 597... First up is an ammo test, I know she loves bulk Winchester at 50 yards but 200 is a whole new ballgame. test set for Friday...
 
Here is my attempt @ 200m

I used my old Mossberg 340k (defiantly not a precision 22)
CCI mini mags standard velocity.

Results were better than I had expected

Blue is my first attempt...one shot missed completely..:redface:

Green is my second..don't know what happened! lol

Glad to see so much interest inTHE 200 YRD CHALENGE.Might get to the coquitlam range thur- fri.GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN,50 YRDS IS BORING ANYWAYS.
 
Any EESA members here I am trying to get people to come out to the 300 to post up some targets... heading there for 10am on Friday (March 29) if anyone is interested.

put the target behind you and mirrors at the 100 yard range. Shoot the reflection in the mirrors and poke holes in the targets with a pencil where you feel the hits are. I can shoot one ragged hole at any distance with this technique.
