hornady interbonds - who uses them?

ive loaded up a couple boxes of the horandy inter bond bullets and have tested them. ive used the exact same loads as my interlock and nosler ballistic tip loads and the accuracy from the interbonds are poor at best.

for example, 44 gr of imr 4895, same brass that was sized and primed at the same time, with the interbonds im averaging 2.5" groups, with the interlocks(half the price) i am averaging 1.2" groups. Not perfect yet but much better than the interbonds. Even on the same range day i get crazy variances in the performance with just changing the bullet. Maybe my gun just hates them.

I picked up a box of speer deep curls and gonna try them next. I really wanted the interbonds to work though, they look awful ###y witht he red tip.

anyone get good accuracy with these bullets?
 
I'm shooting 165gr interbonds in 30 cal out of my 300wsm Sako A7. A five shot group I recall is around 1.25". They perform and hold together quite well on deer. I don't shoot much paper though and just recheck zero each year. I got better accuracy from 150gr interlocks in my 308win FWIW.

i agree. the interlocks were much more accurate and half the price. seems strange i was expecting to hear how I'm doing it wrong and you guys are shooting sub moa groups with them

if i got that accuracy i would be more inclined to try them again, they arent that much cheaper than nosler partitions so they need to be more accurate for their price. But it could just be my gun, it always has shot federal powershocks very consistent and tight, the more expensive tipped factory ammo hasnt shot as well. this is very confusing because they should have a better bc than the lead tip ones.
 
The interbonds in 180 shoot better in my 300 WM then any of the rest Ive tried (accubonds, ttsx, bergers).

My brother with almost identical rifle does better with 200 grain accubonds.

The interbonds work fine for killing deer.
 
i use them, often using the cheaper sst for practice and interbonds for hunting. i have found good to very good acuracy with almost any honady bullet. sometimes you have to work up a load and can't just change bullets and get the same results. i find the sst and interbond to be interchangeable but not so much with the interlock as it is a different style bullet.
 
Interbonds work well in my 280 rem and 7wsm and 7 rem mag also.
I like them beause they shoot exactley the same as the same weight in sst
which are cheap to shoot.

I do the same thing... punch paper with SST and hunt with Interbond, same POI IME...

Also do this with Nosler... punch paper with Ballistic Tip's and hunt with Accubonds... also same POI.
 
Used Interlock 165 BT in 30-06 with max load of 4350 for many years. Now use Interbonds ( sure look ###y when in the nickel cases) and get the same down range results. Still use 'locks for general range work but 'bonds have serious penetration advantage on animals, at least as much as the 180 cup and core used to give.

That was my plan. I wanted to use them pretty bad but i cant find a load that works. I have an 18 inch barrel and it shoots interlocks and partitions really well but the hornady just wont group under a couple inches.
 
I have had similar experience with the Interbonds.
Iffy accuracy, compared to the Interlocks.

However, my M700 in 300 Savage likes the 165 grain variety quite well.

I have 2 - 30-06 rifles at home that I have not tried them in yet.
I will load a few for each and see if one or both like them.
