Best value for a 1911 "Bullseye" pistol

Hi everyone, i have decided i need a 1911 to shoot bullseye at the local club. looking for something basically ready to go out of the box but want to know what you think is the best value/brand out there. can be 45 but 9mm would be an ok second choice. Might end up using it in IPSC Classic div as well. what say ye?

sti or any other big names or something custom. a bullseye pistol must hold @ least 3" x 10 shot group @ 50 yds , aka 1.5" @ 25 . you'll have a tough time finding one for $850 . of course anything is good enough for ipsc .
 
All starter pistols. Look for an older used gun tuned by Clark, Giles , Dinan, Behlert, Chow, Strahan. The current top smiths can't sell anything to Canucks, and the commercial manufacturers simply cannot give you a decent bullseye gun. IF you could find a Springfield Range Officer they are regarded as good enough to get you up to Expert class.

For target shooting I'd import a Les Baer with a 1.5 inch guarantee.
I handled one last month at the Buffalo Gun Center.
Nice trigger,nice everything.
It was $2000.
I only had $1000, and for my application chose the Colt Series 70 Repro.

Might be but he's looking for an "out of the box" 1911. I highly doubt if the OP I'd looking at a really high end 1911 as his first bullseye pistol. He also said that he wanted to use it for IPSC.
