M14

Awesome rifles, just got a polytech m305 and broke it in, Lever Arms sell for $399 add on another $100-$200 though for a half decent scope mount if you want optics on it

M305 is chambered in 7.62 51 but I have run .308 hand loads through it with no problems ., everyone I talk to has different opinion on if u can shoot both .308 and 7.62 51 in this gun

As above......outstanding platform for the price, and unlimited options as you'll find out when the moneys gone every month LOL. Mine will eat 7.62 just as well as 308. But has a definite preference for 308 handloads.
I'm looking for another right now for a project.....so I guess they are kind of addictive. I should have bought two like Hungry said :)
I know you are going to have a blast and the " #### eatin grin " comes free after the first shot :)

Please don't buy one expecting it to shoot 1/2 MOA groups because you saw a picture of US forces using it as a Marksman's Rifle or used one in a video game!

It is capable of being a very nice rifle that shoots accurately, but that is depending on how much money and time you want to put into it. That being said, there are quite a few fairly cheap and easy modifications that can be made to greatly improve accuracy over a brand new one.

My advice is to buy one and try it out! If it's not your cup of tea, you can always sell it on the EE. But more than likely, you'll be looking up all the little tweaks and tricks you can do to really make your rifle shine.

Hey now, video games are totally accurate. I was shooting russians at the washington monument from the white house with absolutely zero bullet drop with my m14 dmr in MW2

I also protected the burger joint quite effectively with one. I had to sit down and rest for 3 seconds after I got shot 6 times, but by the 4th second I was ready to sprint for the 50cal machine gun and take out 3 tanks

Lol. Good replies. I just wanted to know people's experiences if they were worth the money. Plan on getting one for target shooting. Nothing spectacular.

Don't buy ONE! :D

Buy TWO of them! You all knew that was coming! :nest:

Cheers,
Barney

I'd do it. Again. 'Cept I'd buy a second one, too.

Because at $400 what's to lose? lol

Seriously, it's all good. Go for it. Mine works fine.

I feel like everyone here is playing devil's advocated to my wallet and tinkering needs :p These guns are serious fun to play with. Can't stop thinking of the endless possibilities with this platform.

I bought one. As soon as it arrived and I opened the box, my #### started to fall off.

Knowing that it was due to having only one in the house, I left that one in the grease and ordered another off the EE without delay.

My girlfriend hasn't commented on any reduction in performance, so I feel a disaster was right and truly averted.

I've had one for a few years now and besides being more accurate than I expected....it hasn't had any malfunctions in over 300rds fired. I'm planning on a second in the near future.
