I got this sling with a '53 Izzy refrub from Westrifle. I believe it's '51 dated. Never seen one like it before as it has leather ends, no brass, and thicker canvas weave. You can see the hammer and sickle on the stamping. I take it these are rare.

Here it is on my 55/56

Anyone else lucky to get one of these? Or, has anyone inexplicably thrown one out or sold it?

I had one just like that, came with an SKS I picked up maybe 13-14 years ago. That was a Norinco, cost me 115$ new after tax. Unfortunately I gave that one away some time ago (rifle was banged up pretty good after several hard years of bush use). I found that sling dug into the shoulder too much when I was carrying it so I upgraded it to a wide one. Will have to look around for the sling now.

Seeing as yours is an Izzy maybe the sling I got was a knock off or a give-away from the dealer, not sure - looked just like that though. Very adjustable, I could use it to support the rifle in many ways including shootin'

Nicee timing! I've been thinking of checking my Russian slings out. Honestly I neglect them, leave them bagged with all the other accesories. Last few days I've been figuring I should see what I have.

I did very much the same. But one rifle came with different accessories so I took notice. This sling, along with different pouches.

You SOB :p

They go for over $50 on Ebay

I am looking to find another but they seem very hard to find, so I am going to keep it. I think it is time to find a '51 non-refurb
