Aesthetically I think this is one of the nicest looking rifles ever made. I want one so bad right now. Does anyone know who will be bringing these in?

IO Inc., best known for their AK rifles, will soon be selling M16A1 rifles made from original Colt M16A1 parts. The only non-Colt parts will be the IO-manufactured semi-automatic lower receiver and the barrel. The upper receiver, sights and furniture are authentic Colt M16A1 parts. The rifle does not have a MSRP yet. The company is aiming to price it at around $800.

Just saw a real nice colt on EE from '77, It looks the same as this. I am a big fan of that style. Price looked good too as it looks to be un-used

I'm a much greater fan of the newer stuff, and having a quad rail. But then that's because I like to have the extra real estate.

Built from Colt kit....sounds like your buying a $450 gun at $800.
The parts kit are usually worn out funiture to begin with.

question to anyone who wants this. would you use 5/20 for the authentic look or 5/30 since you most likely already have them?

I think I would want the 5/20 mags. I grew up watching Vietnam movies and that's prob where my interest in the old style M16A1 comes from. I still love those movies

I love this rifle, already got an A2 with detach carry handle, but i would buy this in a heartbeat if it we're available, and would be ready to spend up to 1600$ if they had an HBAR version with march trigger

I wouldn't recommend that style to any lefties.

I used to own one (sans the forward assist) very briefly back when they were unrestricted.

The first (and only) time that I fired it, I noticed the empty brass was filling up the open right breast pocket of my M-65 field jacket.

That was fine until one extremely hot casing landed in the space between the collar of the jacket and my neck.

Needless to say, I traded it away shortly thereafter and never looked back.

I have shot the A2 rifle of a friend in the States and liked it a lot better.

The only brass hitting me was as a result of my friend pelting me with the empties that I was ejecting onto his bench to my right.:D

That's interesting, I shot with this upper for a couple of years (lefty) with .223 and .22 and I never had any issue with brass. My lack of accuracy however......
