Hey guys,

Ive had my license for a couple months now and have acquired 4 guns so far. I just got a safe de-humidifier and it got me to thinking, wouldnt leaving the action open allow for more air flow to decrease humidity inside the firearms?

Do you store your guns action closed or open?

Not to mention that with the action open now you can get rust starting from both ends of the barrel.
You are keeping the springs of the hammer, sear, firing pin, etc under tension.
Best thing is closed and decocked.
I know people that even put a piece of masking tape on the muzzle to keep stuff out
When I do a long term storage I clean and heavily oil everything. Then pas a patch of vasoline through the bore and plug the muzzle with the patch.
That's just for long term though.

To decock - is it acceptable to pop a snap cap in there and store it? Perhaps I should oil up the snap cap?

"...to decrease humidity inside..." Makes no difference. Firearm actions are not air tight.
"...pop a snap cap..." Just pull the trigger. Dry firing won't hurt a CF and occasionally doing it with a rimfire isn't likely to bother one of them either.
