Huge Mossberg Shipment! Blackwater, JIC, Thunder Ranch, and MORE!

Sorry, I'm a bit confused. The 590 Persuader on the site says it has the heavy barrel and both metal trigger guards and safety. Does that make it an A1 or just a Special Purpose?
The 590 Persuader is kind of a special case. It's a backport of most of the 590A1 features to the 590 line so that it's at a more affordable price point. It's not *quite* full mil-spec, but is cheaper. In fact, from the description in the original post:

Mossberg's 590 Persuader offers the standard 590A1 package at a lower cost with a commercial finish instead of milspec parkerization. Bayonet lug, ghost ring sights, dual action bars, supported magazine tube, high capacity, and a heavy wall barrel -- plus the rugged 590 action selected by the USMC in open competition over the 870 -- all for an affordable price point.

Also, I'd be concerned about shredding my fingers on that railed fore grip.
I'm planning on putting a Magpul AFG on there to prevent that.

Advantages of Speed Feed on Blackwater to a side-saddle?
Side saddles on the buttstock are, IMO, stupid. If you need to shoot left-handed for some reason (e.g. I'm hoping to get into 3-gun, so to shoot around obstacles more easily), now you have a saddle jamming into your face. They're also not easy to reach effectively during speed reloads.

TBH I probably don't be using the speed-feed stock either, because again it's hard to reach effectively during reloads. I wanted the pic rail on the receiver, railed forend and ghost sights, and the Blackwater fit that bill perfectly.

any standard 590A1's? (non black water edition?)

Hey, just what ya see, pal!

Mossberg, being so far behind, only got this stuff into Canada for the Spring shipment, and nothing else!

Cheers,

I ordered my Blackwater edition online at lunch time and received a Canada Post shipment notification at 3:30pm..... Awesome, Awesome service guys (as usual).

Thanks a bunch.

Steve

My Blackwater shipped out today as well; however, the shipping notice I got was from Canpar? During checkout, it specifically said "Canada Post (CA$10.00) - 2-7 Days" for the shipping option. Since I was expecting Canada Post, it was a bit of a surprise. Not a HUGE deal for me (the pickup location is much less convenient, driving instead of walking distance), but might be a bigger problem for some people.

I don't mind you choosing the cheapest carrier for flat-rate shipping, but maybe update your website to reflect that courier choice may vary instead of saying Canada Post?

Also, for double confusion, your FAQ says:

9 Shipping Restrictions
Firearms can only be shipped within Canada through Canada Post. A signature is required with photo I.D. when the product arrives at your door. Ammunition will be shipped separately from any firearms order.

We absolutely agree and have been meaning to set it up as a selectable option. You'll see changes based on this suggestion take place on the website over the next couple days. Thanks for the feedback, and look for the updates shortly! As for #9: other carriers besides CanadaPost have opened up to shipping firearms since that was written years and years ago. ;)

Will do brother

Edit: do you guys sell the mossy picatinny rails that'll fit the 500 TR? If so how much?

I've pulled a Mesa Tactical one aside for you and we've got it on Gary's desk. It's $47, and we'll get you squared away according to plan!

Cheers,
Dan

Great to hear. Keep up the great service!

Heh, yeah, I kind of figured the FAQ was just out of date. The only reason I even checked was to see if there was anything in the FAQ that said "We reserve the right to select a different carrier" or something before I raised the issue. ;)

Those Blackwater 590A1s are more popular than we expected... and we expected them to be popular! We're down to our last five now! If you're on the fence, now might be the time, as I don't know how long they will last into next week.

Cheers,
Daniel
