The 590 Persuader is kind of a special case. It's a backport of most of the 590A1 features to the 590 line so that it's at a more affordable price point. It's not *quite* full mil-spec, but is cheaper. In fact, from the description in the original post:Sorry, I'm a bit confused. The 590 Persuader on the site says it has the heavy barrel and both metal trigger guards and safety. Does that make it an A1 or just a Special Purpose?
Mossberg's 590 Persuader offers the standard 590A1 package at a lower cost with a commercial finish instead of milspec parkerization. Bayonet lug, ghost ring sights, dual action bars, supported magazine tube, high capacity, and a heavy wall barrel -- plus the rugged 590 action selected by the USMC in open competition over the 870 -- all for an affordable price point.
I'm planning on putting a Magpul AFG on there to prevent that. Also, I'd be concerned about shredding my fingers on that railed fore grip.
Side saddles on the buttstock are, IMO, stupid. If you need to shoot left-handed for some reason (e.g. I'm hoping to get into 3-gun, so to shoot around obstacles more easily), now you have a saddle jamming into your face. They're also not easy to reach effectively during speed reloads.Advantages of Speed Feed on Blackwater to a side-saddle?
TBH I probably don't be using the speed-feed stock either, because again it's hard to reach effectively during reloads. I wanted the pic rail on the receiver, railed forend and ghost sights, and the Blackwater fit that bill perfectly.
