I picked these up from an estate sale, the rubber dust covers are abit dried out but over all they are in excelent condition I'd guess they spent most of their life in a closet.
any Idea of age, value?

Looks like 1990's vintage 8x30's, I'd say value in the $500-$600 range. New 8x30 SLC's cost around $1000. You can still buy the winged eyecups or regular ones if you choose to replace them, they are easy to replace as they're threaded onto the eyepiece. Great little binoculars.

thanks bearkilr, You were close I just herd back from Swarovski they were made in 1987! They definatly spent most their life in storage.
I have them listed for trade on the exchange now as I've got lots of optics and need more toys.

I once had a set of the newer style ones (also one of these on the EE) that I got new for a steal of $750 back when they first came out in the later 90's, a store in Winnipeg had an unfortunate liquidation sale. My understanding is that yours have the same lenses/internals, just the housing is different.
The only other older full size, yet compact, 10x40 or 8x30 roof prisms that come close are the Zeiss BGAT or Leitz, but both of those are few and far between.

They are great little binoculars, you may regret selling/trading them. I know I did.
