Never built an AR before. What will the approximate cost be for all of the required parts for a basic build (excluding the lower receiver since we are on a thread about them)?

$1000, (maybe $800 with a norc upper) if you use entry level parts and nothing used. But I am working a budget build with used goodies

You know, it all depends

I pulled off a build by taking advantage of sales, parts bin hunting, EE sourcing, and luck for $800 bucks.

A fair estimate is $1000, but you get what you want instead of buying a norc and pimping it. (not that there is anything wrong with that, either.)

I guess this was a deal you Nutz were waiting for. I thought that we might clear a few out of the warehouse, I had no idea that we'd be blowing through these things like ammo at a pumpkin shoot!!

Originally $199.99. We had a run that we were clearing out at $159.00, once we reviewed what was in the warehouse it was time to do some house cleaning and give some people a good excuse to build an AR-15.
