Hi Ontario members, maybe I didn't type the right "words in the search" I have a basic question to ask. Just looking for re-verification.
#1 If you buy a gunsafe you don't need to bolt it down.
#2 If you Buy a gun cabinet you have to bolt it down.
Correct?

Thanks in advance for the help.

It depends what is considered vault or safe. For instance the law says storage built for firearms. Well a cheap Stack-On cabinet is built for firearms and not easily broken into so no gun locks required.

Bolting it down or to a wall is mainly for piece of mind. more secure i guess.. though which criminal can realllllly grab the whole safe and take it out? i mean they weigh a ton unloaded and then add the million rifles you obvious have and no dice. even a cheap stack on gun locker loaded with rifles would generally be too much to easily cart out by crooks. a good rule of thumb is out of sight out of mind. Keep it somewhere hard to access and a lil bit difficult to find. A closet or a lockable room. anything to deter people. most breakins are meant to be quick in/out affairs.
