Does anyone know?
Want to contact the owner of Uxbridge Shooting Sports (ON) to tell him they are losing customers due to poor management at the location offending members and visitors. I am sure the owner does not have an idea what kind of unfriendly atmosphere has been created there by a supervisor considering it is ok to talk to customers using curse language.

The two fellows who took me and 3 others for a tour of the facility were perfect gentlemen. We shot 100 clays at sporting, they showed us how skeet is shot, 5 stand, and we tried some trap. No complaints here.

You won't find better people than the shooters and management of the Uxbridge club. Other clubs should strive to be as friendly and well run. I am sure there is another side to the story here...

X2. Uxbridge is a great club. If I were on the other side of the GTA it's where I'd shoot. Definitely there's another part to the story.

People, I mean members, are very nice and friendly, I know several of them and always enjoyed talking and shoot together there and in Oshawa. And I also know some good shooters will never show up there only due to an attitude of a supervisor who is rude and unfriendly showing everyone he is a boss there. I spent my money to shoot there and will never do that again due to that guy. He offended my personally and it was not related to safety,- I've been shooting clays for 2 years and know the rules and etiquette.

I want to contact the owner to let him know that his business is losing customers. I had a clue that Gagnon Sports may own the facility and just wanted to have it confirmed if anyone knows.

Gagnons does not own Uxbridge. It is a member-owned club. Any complaints should go to a member of the Executive. Try their website.

You might want to keep in mind that, with rare exceptions, shooting clubs are not businesses and don't have "customers." They have members.

X3. I am on the west side of the GTA and visit on (at least) a weekly basis. Management is very friendly and I have never witnessed any issues between management and guests.

If you feel strongly enough to post this on a public forum, a complaint to the executive would be in order. You can send an email through the website: http://uxbridgess.ca/index.html or stop in during club hours, there are usually a few members of the executive on site.

You could always tell the particular supervisor that he is being a #### and its not appreciated.

You'll probably get tossed off the line for the day, but if you're leaving anyways, who cares?

That will have to come up in a board meeting, and may give the other directors an "ice breaker" to review range etiquette, or remind people of thier responsibilities.

Maybe I'm just an #######, but if I'm getting jacked for something ridiculous, it's coming straight back.

As a disclaimer , I'm also an RSO at my range, so it's more peer to peer. ive also been there long enough I get left alone by most.

I have no idea, never been to uxbridge. Just general discussion on my part.

I wouldn't drop a name on the net if I was the OP though. Let the directors deal with it. No need to single someone out before they have a chance to follow corrective guidance. Everyone deserves that professional courtesy in my opinion.

Uxbridge is owned by the members. Instead of leveling imprecise general criticism you would be better off contacting the president of the club directly. The club is really a very friendly range.

As others have stated, Uxbridge Shooting Sports is a member owned club. I am a member there & have never had the experience that was described. Doug Baker is the general manager & does a very good job of maintaining the facility.

I am sure there is more to this story than has bee told by the OP.

I went there once last August to see if trap would be something I would be interested in. Had an excellent experience. A very nice gentleman, I believe it was Doug took the time to show me the ropes. If you had a bad experience please let someone there know about it.

I was at the Uxbridge Club today & heard about this incident from a reliable source.

Three people showed up at the Club on Sunday, one of them a member of OSGC. Uxbridge has a reciprocal agreement with OSGC that members are welcome to shoot at each club. However this agreement does not cover signing in guests.

Two nonmembers demanded club member shooting rates from the cashier. A somewhat heated discussion occured about this & the club manager interceded to ensure that the rules were obeyed & that the lady on cash did not have to take any further verbal abuse. The lady is the wife of the Club Manager

This group then went to field #3 & monopolized this skeet field for lengthy period. Member shooters were kept waiting. Again the Club Manager became involved & asked them to move to another field & also had to remind them to pick up their empty hulls. At this point it was determined they had been using #8 shot. This field is restricted (by the CFO) to #9 shot only & is prominently signed to this effect. When questioned about this their response was that they did not see the sign.

After this incident they moved to field #4 & once again monopolized this field while club members were waiting to shoot.

Uxbridge Shooting Sports is a great Club. I have not encountered any rudeness from the staff or members. It is a shame when a nonmember who does not have a clue about range courtesy posts his jaded views of a club on a public forum.

Guest shooters who have this kind of attitude should realize that there are very few Clubs that will welcome them.

I also am an active member of Uxbridge and can only relate my own experience which has been 100% positive. The management does a great job keeping the club facilities running smoothly and I have always felt welcome there. If you want to enjoy your clay s hooting at a first class facility, then Uxbridge is the club to join. As has already been stated, I think there is another side to this story.!!!!!!

I don't know any club that would welcome that behavior. Abusing staff, demanding lower rates, monopolizing fields, not picking up hulls, using shot that is too large. "Didn't see the sign" my ass. I've know that field and if those sorry-ass losers didn't see those signs they should turn in their guns for white canes.

Uxbridge is a great club. The people who belong and work there don't deserve this kind of crap from anyone.
