How common are Tokarev mags?

I have been thinking I would like to try making a 10 round mag by chopping two standard 8 rounders and making one extended 10 round mag from them. Are the mags commonly available or are they like hen's teeth and collectible on their own?

Thanks,
Mark

Well there are a lot around, I wouldn't really say collectible though. I have some original russian ones and some unmarked ones that are worth nothing haha. Now if you put two to make one, what are you going to to for mag spring?

What's Russian for Bubba? ;)

If you need to buy them, the cheapest I found mags when I was buying a few weeks back was from Kellys. I picked up 4 and they came to my door for about $30ea all up.

I was going to try tweaking the standard one before anything else, but I haven't disassembled one yet to see how it looks. I can also extend one using a piece from the other mag if necessary.

15$ a piece from SKSman that were I got 10 last year... I wasn't gonna pay the prices the Canadian dealers wanted....

Even got myself a new barrel for 30$

Nice, that is a decent price for cutting up into bubba-sized pieces. Thanks for the info.

Zastava M57 is basically a TT33 with a longer grip and a magazine that holds 9 rounds. I believe that Marstar has had these on occasion. They have it listed on their site: http://marstar.ca/dynamic/product.jsp?productid=81895

Also: http://world.guns.ru/handguns/hg/serb/m57-e.html

For interest here is a double stack version of the TT33 (16+1)
